Default wow what a difference my sig p226 with hogue g10 piranha grips (pics inside)

my sig 1911 scorpion has g10 prianha grips stock, and i love them

the sig p226 has always felt a little to wide on the grip, i was thinking of doing the e2 conversion but then you cant use any sweet aftermarket grips no more, i read the g10 grips for the sig p226 make it slimmer,

well there right, it feels 10x more better! and alotttt more slimmer IMO, now my sig p226 matches my sig scorpion in terms of grip appearance

NOTE: i have the nice hogue screws but the allen wrench it uses is really small and i dont have one here at home , got it at work so im installing the new screw tomorrow

i also got a short trigger for it (skinner trigger) but for some reason the trigger will not reset, its not install error because i swapped in the standard trigger and it reset all the time so something is up with this short skinny trigger , oh well with the slimmer g10 grip the standard trigger feels fine

I like the little anchor on the slide of the P226. Did that come with the gun? Or did you add that? Very sweet handguns.

Two notes/suggestions-

1. I double up a cotton square cloth and insert into the screw slant BEFORE inserting a screw driver. I makes the screw driver fit better and will not damage your screws.

2. Trick from Nutnfancy- When you use the take down lever, put a small spot of oil or grease on the frame. So when it rotates down and to the left, it will not scratch the frame. I dont see any half marks on your frame yet, but just a suggestion.

Are those green or grey (can't tell by the pics). I just bought a P229 & will be upgrading to G10's either in chain link or pirahna. Those look bad a**!!! Did you buy direct from Hogue or a dealer?

Sounds good on the piranha. They look evil

I am going to go for the Sig Combat look...Armor black on the slide and FDE on the receiver.

Then some tan G10's !

Thanks for the pics, sorta neat seeing that stuff and glad I made the SIG move years ago. They certainly beat those 226's to help and back as we can see in the pictures.

And those grips look neat, wish local stores had a model with them on them already so I could hold them.

Wow! Awesome grips! I was gonna snag some, but $120 is a bit much for a pair o' grips. I guess I'll just have to learn to make them myself the way I do everything else. lol.

to me it was money well spent the p226 grips are way to big for my medium sized hands, with these g10 grips it improves the feel of the gun for me ten fold loving it, cant wait to get it back from the sig shop, with the smaller trigger/srt, with the smaller trigger its going to feel even better in my hands!

I just ordered a set for my P229 & got them in 2 days. I love the look & feel! Now I'm thinking of getting a P226 and putting a set on it.

If you're interested in trimming down the P226, try out the E2 kit. I put it on mine and really dig it, and I never actually had a problem with the original size (long hands).

Those piranha grips look sick. The Nills grips on my X5 cracked, and Nills wants $90 to repair it. For that kind of money, I think I'd rather buy a new pair of Hogue G-10s.

Anyone? I really like the look of the G10 but with a 8/8.5 glove size I'd hate to spend $120 and have the grips still feel too large...
