Default How much is this Colt MK IV 1911 Series 80 Govt Model in 38 Super worth?

Hey, I'm trying to help a friend sell his gun but it's a little hard to find some information on it. I've seen prices range from $700-$1300 and am not sure what the price should be set at.

The 1911 is chambered in 38 Super Government Model with 5" Barrel and blued finish. The gun has less than 120 rounds through it as it was mainly stored in the safe. Everything is original and it comes with 3 magazines.
Please let me know, thanks!

Tell your friend that its worth nothing and he should give it to me.

Joking aside, check out gunbroker.com they might have an answer for you.

Why not just list it in the sale section for $1300 and lower the price until it sells? I wish they'd ban these "how much is my gun worth" posts because a lot of them just seem like a way for people to sell their gun on the main forum and without stating a price.

If I wanted to sell my gun I'd have no problem posting it in the for sale section. I don't understand the need to ban posts like this. In my case, it is a genuine question because I have done my research and have not found a definitive answer.

From what I can tell this Colt is not so common in the 38 super caliber and therefore I have not been able to find much info on it. I would liked a better ball park price range before I post up a price in the for sale section.

As stated, go on gunbroker. Better yet, take it to an FFL.

Nice gun...

Idiot scratch doesn't help the value. Box does.

Should sell quick for $900-1000. If you want $1100 or more may take a while...

it may have been worth more than $1k, but the idiot scratch ruined it...

I'd be willing to fork out around $800, but only upon inspection to make sure "bubba" didn't do any smithing on it

1000.00 total investment sounds like a fair for buyer and seller. Unfired in the box and in new condition it would START at a 1000.00 +++++
