Thumbs up done

Is it time to start putting something together for another @#!$* Rabbit hunt?
The first one was great tho a low attendance and some no-shows. As far as success goes 100% we all got Rabbit's and My Son-in-law and I got in some great Trout fishing. If you have any interest just post (I'm interested) before your comments or questions I would like a propossed head count before going further. Thanks toby/jim
Small update please see post #56

OK DATES ARE SET
First hunt will be held on July 28-29 I will be there on the 27th/ This hunt has ended

Second and last hunt will be held on Aug 18-19 I will be there on the 17th

I will definately be there, I had a blast the last time, my son will remember that hunt for the rest of his life. Especially cause, with the help of Eric Meyer, shot a rabbit at a 150 yards with Eric's 17HMR, he wouldnt shut up about it when we got back.

Might give me a reason other than jury duty to drive to Independance. Any idea on dates yet?

I'm in again. I was there last time but y'all were hard to find and we had an eventful trip. Ended up with the AR's out in the field by ourselves. Better GPS coordinates this time I think and maybe a big sign that says "CalGuns here" or something similarly useful.

BTW... how about a cedarville squirrel roundup trip? They have a big town event in the spring and it's mega fun. Rancher up there were very nice and open with their dirt for respectful shooters.

I dont' want to see any whining about 8 hour drives. It was at LEAST that for me. off the butt and in the truck man.

For all that ask for info look at my post #6 and click on the two threads, Ive not yet announced any tentative dates due to I want to see the interest level in order to make it a worth while deal. It's still a few months away so I'm just letting people know heads up cuz last year everyone said man I did not see this! anyway just keep watching here and info will appear steadily. I will do a poll type deal for head counts rather than go through all the posts this time around. As for the SIGNS they were there at least four of them in different locals..........
ADDED: They were Nice signs donated by Eric Mayer........of www.varminter.com

Summer out there sucks, how about one this weekend before the season closes?

ETA: If there's any interest and someone knows the place, I'll happily provide some awesome beef and chicken kabobs my girlfriend makes!

See post #6 for info on last years event, there has yet to be an announced set date for this year. Any weapon 22 rimfire or shotgun work best, any ammo as per Cal DFG regs, lead is fine 2-3 day event, Lone pine Cal, camping or Hotel

I'm in, if the cottontail to jackrabbit ratio is fairly good.

There's just so many jackrabbits nearby to where I'm already at...killed 5 yesterday just while chukar hunting, didn't want to shoot too many more, as there not as good to eat as cottontails. Cottontail, on the other hand is delicious and easy to prepare.

Got 4-6 inches of snow around the Bishop area on Monday. Mostly all melted now except for the plow piles and shaded areas. Was one of those odd weather days that just makes you want to hunt.

I totally want in, if someone wants to rideshare I'd gladly pitch in for gas and any expenses needed for the trip! It will be me +1 (only because I had to sell my truck and had to go with a smaller car)

It would be helpful to state your location.

I was talking to a few friends about that and you can count at least 4 of us in.

Last year the area I hunted with Toby was crawling with Jacks and Cottontails. I even had a taste of cottontail, but was not very thrilled about the taste, but then again we just BBQ'd it with salt and pepper.
