As posted on BullPupForum:
http://bullpupforum.com/index.php?PH...h7&topic=478.0 I hope someone gets a pre-production unit to design a magazine lock for it (and I'm also hoping that there's a longer barrel version offered) ![]() |

That's Michael Kassnar. I think that's the same guy who imported Hungarian AKs in the 1980s and 1990s (Kassnar Imports / KBI).
If he says the Tavor is coming out later this year...well, he'd know better than anyone else. |

Vaporware is right.
I've always thought it looks like something from Halo... Looks long and bulky, but what do I know.

I have one on my msar I know. but apparently you still have to worry about that trigger guard being considered a fore grip...

Don't know much about the Tavor, but the aesthetics don't do it for me. For example, what's with the massive handguard instead of just a simple triggerguard?
Also, what makes the Tavor stand out from other similar bullpups already on the market, ie the FS2000, Aug, or RFB? |

"Styling" and "operating system" would be enough for me, but beyond that...it probably doesn't handle like holding a tuna (FS2000), would actually be on the market (the AUG isn't at present), and AFAIK a 5.56 RFB isn't even available at present. This is, of course, assuming that the Tavor manages to hit retail stores in 2012. |

I honestly think FN solved this with the way the F2000 sort of "poops" cartridges out the front, but FN has a lot of wasted space/plastic. The Tavor is the lovechild of the FN and the AUG. -W |

LOL. Actually, I was really hoping that the Tavor would be resurrected. Hopefully this isn't all just more smoke & mirrors and that something actually comes to the market.
The Bullpup market just isn't that great especially since Microtech/MSAR died.

I heard that they will be offering it for a low low price of $29.99 but then a week before the release they will raise it up to $2,500. I hear that tactic is going to be covered in the new Magpul video called, "Rip-off Dynamics" co-produced by Bushmaster and Remington.

I'm not sure about the RFB, but that appears to beat the FS2000 and AUG in that department. |

The Israelis know what's going on when it comes to weapons.
That is probably the best reason for one. Except I think I'm spending my vapor wear money on a Beretta ARX-160.

I want one. Slap a G36 scope carry handle on it and it'l be the closest thing to a FA-MAS I'll ever get to.

haha brilliant. I wonder what it would take to mold some plastics to frankenstein the FAMAS asthetics with the parts. They can't be too dissimilar, right? After all, aren't the Israeli's pretty well known for making good stuff from alternating original designs? It would be interesting to see how different the two (famas v tavor) are in mechanics.

FA-MAS is a completely different platform. The Tavor is piston operated rotary bolt. The FA-MAS is straighy blowback, which is why it has an absolutely insane rate of fire. Either way, If both come out, I want both!

Based on my extensive experience with it in Modern Warfare, I can say with complete resolve that the IMI Tavor is an amazing rifle. It's ability to garner its user headshots, coupled with its high rate of fire and quick magazine changes makes it without doubt the 2nd greatest gun ever made, only surpassed by the Deagle.
