Default KSG shotgun instock

Just received an email from discount gun sales. They have KSG's instock. Any local dealers here in CA have them?

Methinks Discount Gun Sales is lying.

See Kel Tec's website about the KSG. It has not been released yet. I think they would announce this pretty loudly as there has been a lot of anticipation for the KSG.

are you refering to the preview page that is more than a year old, from 1-4-2011?

Kel-tec has stated that they shpped a batch of ~250 before the end of the year. They have been selling on Gunbroker for the last couple weeks.

Kel Tec announced via Facebook that they shipped 250 KSG's prior to their holiday season shutdown

Apparently on another forum I frequent, a person with a newly acquired KSG has run into an issue...

"the left side of the slide that attaches to the rails has broken clean off. The right side was about to do the same thing."

Taken from here and also contains pictures... http://www.acrforum.com/forum/showth...-Tec-KSG/page4

I've heard about some higher end police units using keltecs bullpup rifle, but I also heard that they were highly modified and upgraded from keltec as well.

and I though many of the delays this firearmhas experienced was because of updaes done to it based on the suggestions of leos that tested it.

all i know is if a ksg was on calguns for $850-900, it would be like flys on ****!I believe everybody buys what they want. What someone thinks is junk someone else might think its cool. I put my deposit down back in early 2011 and if it ever makes it here its gonna be like xmas . If I don't like it put it up for sale and guarantee it'll be gone.

Affirmative; I own Keltec guns and not even their bullpup .308 is worth over $1000.

I heard that Kel-Tec has held off to make a good enough production run so they can have a decent amount to go around...HAHA...Really? So where are they at?

That would be the one for display and not for sale? Or the one being held for R&D? If not either of the above, is it priced at $1,700?

Google Product Search lists 8 dealers, if not all of which are reputable at least some are, who are taking preorders for not much over $600. But check the disclaimer on the Google Product Search page:
Quote:
The KSG can only set to feed from the right or the left. Once the magazine is empty, the operator must use a manual switch to select the other magazine. This may appear at first glance to be disadvantage but for many people who live in areas where shotgun magazine capacity is limited by law, this feature, or lack of feature as the case may be, could allow them to legally possess the KSG.
The corollary to could allow is that it may turn out not to allow legal possession.

After market rail and 2 side saddles? Are the side saddles built into rail or modular and removable? I assume removable. So your going to show both these products at shot show?

You need to get on making a stock foam cheek rest. You can seem some 1 off's and prototypes on the web here and there, but nothing retails... get one to market first!

Just talked to the Kel Tec guy at SHOT. They are currently producing 400 per week and figure to have all the back orders out by June. That doesn't include the police guns and the NFA guns. You do the math. He also said they had addressed a lot of the QC problems before they started up the production run.

As the rep told me, the pre-production guns were basically hand made prototypes that were purpose-built to be test beds for the production models. As the first production models were just shipped last month, I don't think that what you have heard as "QC problems" were in the production models. And no, I'm not affiliated in any way with the company. TIFWIW

Tallship - thanks for the update. So does 2400 guns on back order for the whole country sound accurate. Would have thought more although I would have thought they could produce more than 13 guns a day too assuming 7 days a week.

So if pre-production was the proto-types, does that first lot of 250 constitute the production working out the kinks of tooling, fabrication and machining at $1600 on current average price? Maybe not so lucky to be first kid on the block...

I think the math comes out to around 7,800 and assume a 5 day week.
