I actually listened to one of his phone calls for a change rather than letting it go to voicemail. Kind of wished I let it go to voicemail cause then I would have a recording of it. Hope I wasn't hearing things.

Anybody know what goes on? The description sounds pretty varied:

My wife and I took it before. Depends on who teaches it. When my wife and I took it, two weapons (pistols on left and right hips), shoot left and right handed, empty hand, knife, tactics, etc. Good class. Hardest for me was shooting left handed. To reinforce the training, I took a four day HG a few months later, missed eg by one point. Was third with man on man.

I'd say by far the training is great and for beginner shooters a for day is a must do. I've been a member for about 3 years and I have just gone twice the instructors are great the facility is still being worked on and the classroom setting is well a classroom setting. I've been shooting for a long time and I thought I'm doing everything right. "Not" so FS is by far well worth the money I paid. I'm a diamond member and haven't upgraded to ambassador yet. Cause I still have 2 extra diamond memberships (*_~)

Anyone ever take the rifle course using an AK or maybe was there with someone that was using one? I'd think the majority of people use an AR15 but it would be fun to take the course with both.

About a third of the rifles in the rifle courses I took there were ak's. I'm always the only ps90.

Heard it on a call too. I upgraded so stopped getting nearly as much pressure, but my wife, who will never need more than what she's got, is still on a lower level membership, so we keep getting the calls. I'm already having trouble finding who all to give out all the previous memberships...now another 10? It's going to be easier to just hand a membership to someone rather than have them get a certificate.

He has told the non-ambassadors that he is going to be giving the Ambassadors the 10 Patriot memberships. Hasn't announced it to us yet. I'm sure he will soon, which means I will have 20 more between my wife and myself.

Thanks for the offer! I think you can do a segment like what the Late Boy Scout did but with a woman's perspective on FS training. Maybe on your next visit in March?

I've been thinking of doing this. I wonder if we can get a tax deduction and if so, how much of a deduction we can claim for these memberships.

Probably can if you donate them to a military or LEO support organization. Since many people are selling Diamond memberships for $99, I would think the fair market value accepted by the IRS is significantly less for the latest membership give-aways.

Here is an interesting video interview of Stockpile Defense. Stockpile Defense is the ammo contractor Front Sight uses and they have a distribution center at Front Sight.

In my experience and with talking to other Front Sight members from around the country, the going rate for Diamonds ranges from $200 to $500. I think we here on CG have the lowest prices as I've had people contact me from across the country for memberships. I'm sure there are the occasional discount to friends and family or from members who just want to get rid of their TBDs. It is a free market, and it may seem like supply is exceeding demand, which i don't really believe is happening yet, but even at that $500 price, it's still a great deal.

Looks like Front Sight is offering Diamond memberships on their web sight again for $15,000 so I should just go with that! :-)

Based on that your newly gifted memberships they should be deductible at $10K a piece.

My wife did, she really liked it. She broke her thumb a week prior but was still able to work around it. Since it wasn't set till later (didn't want to go to the doctor), healed a bit off. Point of story, she had a great time, its well taught, and if she could do it with a broken thumb, anyone should be able to do it.

Just finished 1911 and 4 day def hg. Went well, weather was great. Anthony was Rangemaser and he and his crew were great. My wife and I were graduates, lost our points on malfunction drill times.

I get worried anytime I see a too good to believe offer. The buisness model astounds me! But....it seems to work. I wonder how many TBD memberships are floating out there?

I just now joined the forum, so "Hello!"

The beginning of this thread requested this info:
Membership Type: Ambassador
Membership Date: 2011
Courses Taken: 4D Defensive Handgun (I have "DG'd" this class), 4D Tactical Shotgun (7 points away from DG)
Next Course: 2D shotgun skill builder to shoot for DG, 4D Practical Rifle

I've taken them up on several of their offers along the way. I originally paid $1000 for my Diamond and even though that's at least double what I'd charge I still think it's well worth it. I've gone with my brother in law, I gave a Diamond to my son for a present when he graduated with his Master's degree and took him, and now we've taken his wife down there.
My immediate goal is to DG in handgun (done) shotgun and rifle, because then I can take the "scenarios" class.

Todd

Been to the scenarios class twice, once was very good, once was a little off tract. Either way, its all good training, I guess it all depends who is teaching it.

Smooth but reckless speed (with your finger off of the trigger) on presentation, then the 3 secrets is what helped me. Concentrate on smooth first. Duh. That's what they teach you so I'm just regurgitating lol

Dry pactice, to include malfunctions. I tape a paper/plastic cup to the wall, open end toward me, natural point of aim, and then practice presenting into the open cup.

Vice grip, don't mash, smooth trigger.

Great exercise to get the "bowling" out of a presentation. If you are "bowling" than getting the gun into the cup requires you bring the gun back and then in.

Business cards make great practice targets. Best of all, they are available free at lots of places. If you get used to shooting business cards, the head box seems huge.
