Nice - great way to spend the first few days of the new year! Would love to hear how the Garmin wrist GPS works for ya - I hunt some crazy out-of-the-way places and it would be nice to have my trace right on my wrist.

Also I am gearing up to carry a shotgun with slugs and shot for big game and birds instead of a rifle. Seems I always run into birds when I am big game hunting and vis versa. Any tips on non-lead choices?

Stayed at Gibbs Hall. Some of our group is in the campground.

wtpops got a small boar out of 29 yesterday. He had the longbow drawn on a 200 lber but didnt think he could get the hog out. It's a walk in area and he had a bike so he shot the lil guy and strapped him to the frame and drove him out.

The story on that elk with the chewed off face in the cooler is the girl who shot it winged a leg and it hobbled around that night until a cougar latched onto it. THe cat later reluctantly gave up the elk to the hunter. What a way to go, having a cougar latched on to your face.

One guy got a bobcat today in area 2. The elk hunters are all tagged out now so all the good areas should be open in the morning for the pig hunters.

One the shotgun slugs, I jiut got a Marlin 220 bolt slug gun so I'm dedicating a shotgun to just that which means more patterning to see what works best. Range is sposed to be good out to 200 yards with 3" groups common. We'll see if my shoulder and nose can take that pounding at the range.
