Default The future of S&W M&P

Do you think it will be up there with Glocks and XDs? Will there be more aftermarket parts? Will the magazine prices go down?

I own four M&Ps. Three are M&P9s, and the fourth is an M&P9c (Compact). I recently sent three of them (two M&P9s and the M&P9c) to Dan Burwell for his Standard Trigger Job. The trigger is the only thing I don't like about the M&P, mainly because its reset is not distinct enough for my tastes. Dan's work 100% solves this, and also gave me a lighter and smoother trigger, with a short and distinct reset. The triggers now feel like a well broken-in Walther P99 AS trigger. In summary, their triggers now rock!

Here is a photo of my M&P9c:

I own the 9mm. I think S&W has a real winner. They've been well received on the 10-8 forum & aftermarket products are already starting to show-up. Here's some sights from http://www.10-8performance.com/

Thanks for the replies.
Does anyone know which gun shop has a compact in the O.C. and surrounding areas?

Nice compact. Like a Glock 26, but of course better lol
I bet they would love to get you to photograph their weapons... You rock!

Do you ever get out to PCT anymore? I have not been there in a while.

The M&P will easily surpass the XD IMO. Glock has such a stranglehold on that market so who knows if the M&P will be able to dethrone it. I have a fullsize and I just ordered a compact this week directly from S&W. This gun is a winner.

Outlaw, I've been checking and I couldn't find a compact in OC. Give it some time and there will be more aftermarket parts available. This thing is barely a year old.
