Default The days are getting longer!!! Wahoo!

Winter solstice has come and gone.

The days are getting longer and I'm looking forward to my first hiking trip in the mountains. Refrained from hiking in the mountains this winter because of my irrational fear that my recent concussion would be exacerbated.

Can't wait to get into the mountains this spring!!!!

Thank god for waxing days. I'm getting real tired of getting up in the dark and not getting home from work until it's almost dark.

All depends how you look at it.

Now if you lived a little further north and you worked up in the woods and liked to get started as close to first light as possible and put in a long day... you'd call it "two moon light rides and a picnic, every day!".

Go duck hunting. Sitting in a muddy blind with rain or snow pouring down and freezing your pachinkos off is great. I like the snow too. All my camping and hiking is done in the snow.

OHOD, we've got our annual warm up overniter to Angel Island booked for February. This will be our 4th year and half the crew is talking about kayaking out there this time. Give Sword Lake off 108 a go. I hope to get more trips this year. PAX

Like others mentioned above, I too relish foul whether in SoCal. But these short days are tough. Even around noon, the shadows are long, and by just after lunch time, you gotta hustle because it is gonna be getting dark soon. I am looking forward to more daylight too.
