Default Southbay Rod and Gun Club, Dulzura

I am thinking of joining Southbay, but I shoot a lot and I am worried about cost of targets adding up. I know for members the first target is free, then they charge 50 cents per target. When I shoot on BLM land, I usually shoot about 60, 5 shot groups (5 targets per sheet for a total of 12 sheets).

What types of targets does Southbay offer? Do they have big targets with 16 or 20 bullseyes? Any details would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tim

Don't they allow you to bring your own targets?

I am pretty sure you cannot use your own targets.

use paper plates and put a ton on your target board

sbrgc is too expensive anymore
I used to be a member but because its run by volunteers usually during the week the main range is only open
sucks shooting pistols that far out
which isnt much fun because at least for me I need a spotting scope to see any hits that far away
then your forced for 1/2 to either shoot a ton of ammo at a shot out target or hang around until its time to change it
plus its pretty far to drive there with really nothing in the area food wise, so you have to prepare for that too

I have been there when the military was shooting full auto at then shorter range in the back and you could watch them shoot
that was fun
at $20 a visit its better to join for a year, last time I paid it was only $60 but I think its went up from then

They run about every 20 min.
I enjoy shooting out there because the people are friendly and helpful.
I used to say it was the older guy's that made it fun, then I realized I'm one of the older guy's..........YIKES
It now is $75.00 for a year.
It is far and you have to take your own food and water, but it is closer than when I go to the desert.
When I go, I take "Shoot and See" targets and for .22's I shoot the little target fix dots.
Join and hope to see you out there.

Only been able to find BLM land to shoot steel targets, Southbay used to let you bring your own steel but there were too many ricochet incidents. Either desert or BLM land for us San Diego folk
