Obviously the word is getting out, and more and more people are using the link! This is great!

Brandon, can you give us an idea what this new cash stream will fund? Obviously, it funds the ongoing efforts of CGF, but are there any new plans knowing there's more $$ coming in every month?

Anything that it brings beyond our monthly expenses will sit in reserves to give us some breathing room and provide additional capacity.

I can tell you that we're making an investment in education, starting with the new CGF website (4-6 weeks out or so), and producing some of our legal/info materials for in-person distribution (to additively reach a different segment of CA gun owner).

Incredible, indeed. Thanks to everyone who is supporting 2A by making sure they and their friends and family use our affiliate program to buy at Amazon!

I have a feeling that as www.shop42A.com finds its way farther into the wild, the program will be able to capture sales outside of California, also.

We're leveling a bit at about 8.25% average; we're about 1,200 items shipped/month away from a 0.25% bump.

The volume will come with people making www.shop42A.com go viral, along with bookmarking and making it a regular part of the purchase workflow.

I'm going to be building a HTPC in the next month or two (as soon as the Core-i3 3225 chips are released.) I'll be sure to use this link!

Not really. I'm going to be using madvr for better picture quality, and there is no way something like an Atom can handle it at 1080p with all the settings maxed.

Also, I like the Intel Quicksync tech in the chip. From what I have read, it can transcode videos extremely fast with very good results. While it is not what I would use for blu-ray rips on the HTPC (I would use a pure CPU encode for max quality), I would use it to put TV shows on my (also soon to own) iPad. I plan to start going to the gym, and the treadmill is too boring without something good to watch.

Oh! I'll buy the iPad on shop42a also!

When I log into shop42a.com, I can see the amazon address, with the tag=calgunfounda showing in the URL, etc. But once I click on anything from there, all trace of a calguns login is gone. Is there a way to verify my purchase will send money to calguns?

There's not a way for you to verify but as long as that session is valid, CGF will get the ~8%. One way to know the session is valid is to click the link, add something to your shopping cart and continue on with your browsing/searching...as long as that initial item is in your cart, you'll be able to know your session is still valid.

The best way I've found to get people to use the link is to make (or have them create) a shortcut either on their browser toolbar or desktop.

Here's an idea that will take this to the program to the next level...
It would be quite easy to write a browser extension that adds the affiliate code into any and all Amazon links.

This could be done with Firefox, Chrome, and probably even Internet Explorer. It would make it so you never had to remember to start with the bookmark again! Even other people using your computer would be supporting CGF and it would be MUCH easier to get friends and family to install an extension ONE time than to click on the bookmark every single time they shop at Amazon.

I checked the Amazon Affiliate terms of service and I don't see anything that suggests they would have a problem with this.

I wish I had the time to write the code myself, but I don't. And even if I did, I wouldn't be able to keep it updated as the browsers update, but this should be a 90 minute job for a professional programer.

HTH,
Billy

Why did the total amount donated go back down and start from zero? We were almost at $6k at the end of May.

We start from zero every month, just as we have since I started this thread.

It's not an inception to date tally, but a monthly tally.

Thanks for clearning that up! Wow, we're actually donating a lot more money than I originally thought. Excellent!
