Cool Where are the cheap 10/22s this time around?

Cabelas is great at $165.

Damn shame that there aren't any in California.

Just need the guts for a project gun. Gonna shelf the stock and barrel most ricky tick, but buying an aftermarket receiver costs more than the damn rifle in the first place. Phooey.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. A used one in the classifieds will be a little cheaper than a big 5 sale, but not by much. An aftermarket chassis might be pricey but you get a second action screw and a threaded barrel channel. I'm having trouble deciding!

It's already more expensive than you think.

I found a BC folding stock and a BC Backpacker (impossible to find) stock on the same day last week.

I'm going to put together one of these.

Bought the basic one from Bud's, everything came out to $215 OTD (198+15 transfer). I think it'll be around $500 or so when all mods are done (except the KIDD 2 stage, but it'll be a while before I come up with that money)

Cool

$209 plus everything you could possibly think of from the Gun Genie works out to about $266 about a mile from my house.

There has to be a better deal somewhere, maybe Christmas.

Walked into my favorite G-shop and asked for the best price on a 10/22 and was shown a tag that said $359.00.

With a straight face.

Ouch.

$260ish OTD sounds about right.

Interesting stock. Just remember that it has to be 26" or longer OAL when folded

is it true that when you buy one online you have to pay CA sales tax when you pick it up from the local ffl?

depends on the FFL. i think its the DOJ that says tax must be collected, but the DOJ isnt a tax enforcement entity, so many FFLs dont charge sales tax since a sale wasnt made in this state.

The best deal I have seen on 10/22's so far is $219.99@Turners and $229.95@Big 5.

I understood the sales tax law changed a couple of months ago and the FFL must collect sales tax on an out of state transfer unless it was a gift.

Yup. The used one always tout "LOW ROUND COUNT! METAL TRIGGER HOUSING!" I've actually seen 'em priced above current retail....

Sports Authority's in the Bay Area don't sell anything firearms related. It's one reason I miss Sacramento.

Fish, that's an AWESOME sig. RIP Copenhagen

Thats because some people have a real hard on for metal housing groups and are willing to pay a premium for them.

Well that's one way of putting it. Then there's the point of a non-painted receiver, phoney painted stainless steel barrel, having a aluminum barrel clamp and aluminum butt stock pad instead of plastic, walnut stock.......... It's the timers that appeal to me with no viagra needed. To each their own.

I agree that there are some beneficial things to the older models; however I'm willing to bet 99% of us would never know the difference when shooting. What bothers me is when people want a specific feature on a gun and complain about the premium as its a highly desired feature.

10/22s are still floating around the private sector for under $200. You just have to be lucky. PAX
