Default Just ordered my reloading gear

Just wanted to introduce myself to this forum - i'm about to starting reloading, and I put in an order today with Cabelas for the following gear:

Hornady Lock-N-Load Auto Progressive Press with Automatic Case Feeder Combo
Hornady® Lock-N-Load® Die Bushings 10 pack
Lee Carbide Pistol Four-Die Set 45 ACP
Cabela's XT 1500 Digital Scale
Cabela's Bullet Puller
Cabela's Model 400 Case Tumbler Kit
Lyman 49th Edition Reloading Handbook – Softcover Edition
Cabela's Plastic 100-Round Ammo Boxes
Stack-On 12-Bin Bench Organizer
RCBS Primer Tray
RCBS Primer Pocket Brush Combo
CCI Primers - Large Pistol
Alliant Smokeless Powder UNIQUE 1 LB
Alliant Smokeless Powder BULLSEYE 1 LB
Winchester Smokeless Ball Powder 231 1 LB
Oregon Trail Laser-Cast™ Bulk Pistol and Rifle Bullets 45 CAL 230GR RN

To start with I want to load 45ACP, and once I am proficient at that I will move on to .223

What do you guys think? Did I forget anything important or need anything more?

Thanks,
Mark

I'd get a set of calipers to check OAL.

I have the frankford arsenal digital one. there is one at harbor freight just like it.

I got the PTX expanders for my powder drop. that way I don't have to use the lee one and I can use the RCBS lockout die on station 3. It has already caught a couple of low/no loads whilie I have been loading.

Oh, and I highly recommend the One Shot Cleaner/Dry lube to clean your powder drop before using. You can use other cleaner but that one shot is awesome.

When you start loading 223 you will need a case trimmer and a swager.

Check out the RCBS "seconds" for the Pro trimmer kit. You can get it cheap. For the swager consider the RCBS swage die set or the Dillon 600. Don't forget case lube.

Welcome!

You are going to need the following:

Calipers
PTX expander for each caliber
Hornady One Shot Dry lube

Optional items I would get:

Extra primer tubes
Hornady One Shot case lube (couple cans)

If you really want to move, use my $28 bullet feeder. When you buy the bullet feeder die, it comes with the PTX expander with it. so if you plan to use it, you don't need to buy it separately.

Already have calipers as I have a full blown machine shop in my garage

The bullet feeder looks awesome, I'll have to get the parts for that.

I thought case lube was optional with carbide dies? I will order some anyway.

Lube is optional, but makes resizing smooth as butter.

no mention of a shellplate -- get the #45 if available, though #1 will work fine.

Ordered my Hornandy LNL earlier today, just the press though not all the bells and whistles like you. Can't wait to get it and get cranking.
