Thanks for the compliment. You're right. It did start out as a 7 inch frame. I still have an unbuilt frame like it. I've been waiting for a company to make an extra long slide to have another 10 mil built. Unfortunately, at the moment, 6 inch 40 cal barrels and slides are the only ones available.

Someone suggested using old socks to prevent dings and scratches when not using some sort of rack.

The Springer has Robar's Roguard on the slide and NP3 on the frame. The Baer is hardchromed.

'looser' is one of my favorites, but English spelling, such as it is, offers no guidance.

'lose' rhymes with 'shoes' - but from looking at it, should it not rhyme with 'nose'?

However, the your/you're problem is well enough known that I really expect folks to memorize the difference.

Going back to the thread, I have really enjoyed the pictures; my Glocks are not photogenic, and I tend to agree a little bit with 'ugly', so I won't put a picture of such plebian pistols in such august company.

WW2 Nazi collection:

From top left, clockwise, Radom vis 35, Steyr Hahn 1911 (08 9mm model), Reworked Bolo Broomhandle (all matching), 1936 Mauser s/42 Luger, ac45 Walther P38, late war last ditch.

My 'Allies' collection still needs to grow (only a Webley Mk4, and an old Victory model).

Default WW2 Nazi collection

I love the Broomhandle. I keep looking for a good example that I won't have the get a second mortgage to buy.

About 10 years agos I passed on a beauty for $600 because I didn't have the money at the time. Looking back I should have looked harder to find the cash.

What hurts more is my uncle had an excellent condition broomhandle with matching sholder stock and holster. He sold it really cheap to maintain his drinking

TMC,

If that was a 9mm 'Red 9' your uncle sold, you and I will have to cry together!
I need a true Red 9 to complete my collection- but I'll probably have to pay $1.5-2K for an 'O.K.' one

I lucked out on the refurbed gun- it cost about $500-550 if I remember right- I paid a non-matching price and got a full matching gun! I have yet to fire it

Hey Dave, I was looking at one of those scandium/titanium models, I think it was a 33x in 38 spl only. Awfully tiny and light... is it going to be punishing too?

esskay- to be honest, after shooting my .357 scandium, NOTHING is punishing anymore, not even the .500S&W! Seriously! Even the .44 scandium with full loads isn't as bad as the .357when using 158gr and up.

To me, the .38's aren't bad- it's still snappy, but manageable. If the recoil's still uncomfortable to you, you can put a larger set of hogue grips on it too.

I would get the .357 scandium if you were going to go that route. You can shoot both, and let your friends shoot it with 180gr. full power .357 loads for giggles

If you want a much more pleasant and easy to shoot model, get the Model 60 in .357. It's full stainless, and probably kicks as much as the scandium with .38's when using full power magnum loads! The M60 has a better trigger feel than either of my two shrouded hammer guns also- the mechanism is different internally, the shrouded guns have a 'second stage' in terms of feel when you pull the trigger while the M60 doesn't, and can be cocked if you want.

-Dave

PS- if you're in So Cal, you're welcome to put a few rounds through mine to see if you like it- bring some .38's, all I have is three Fifty Sevennn!

Thanks for the input Dave. I would in fact actually prefer a 357, which I could of course just load with 38spl... it's just that I had run across a pre-lock Scandium and it's in 38spl... and I can't stand the damn lock so I was considering buying it anyway.

A pre-lock gun might be the plain titanium cylinder gun with the aluminum frame- also a neat gun. It's 1oz. lighter than the scandium

My uncle had one, which worked great, until he blew it up! Apparently he made up some .357 level loads in some old .38 cases since he only had a .357 at the time. When he found them again, he shot them through the .38. After about 28 rounds- KA-BOOOOOOOM! It blew the top strap in two pieces, and blew off the top of the cylinder. He was unhurt thanks to the great design of the gun. I wonder if the thought 'why the heck does this thing kick so dang much' ever crossed his mind

Just make sure you shoot .38's in yours
