I have 2 friends and myself that are waiting for the 22/45's to go on sale again at Turners (seen them a couple times for $199), so I'm asking for help in spotting these deals, I check the Turners site every week for their ad which comes out on thursday afternoon and just signed up for the seasonal catalog, but I think there might be special deals out there from time to time that I'm not aware of.
If anyone can help with info, please post on here or PM me. Also once I get the 22/45 Mark III, I want to modify it for the mag disconnect, round indicator, and maybe trigger work, nothing crazy, just good quality mods that make a difference with the trigger pull.

Like I mentioned, I think that they have specials on certain items sometimes without it being listed in the weekly ad, but I'm waiting patiently. One salesman last week told me he could give me the $269 deal from the spring/summer catalog, but thats hardly a deal if they go down to $200 sometimes. I'm with Slicendice on the GSG too, if one comes on sale before the 22/45 I might have to go with that first, but I will be getting a 22/45 eventually

They run seasonal promotions like the upcoming "Glocktober Days", and "Ruger Days", basicly when these run all the guns in stock by that manufacturer go on sale at a reduced price, and/or come with some sort of swag from the manufacturer. Would not be surprised to see the upcomeing weekly add to be for "Ruger Days".

Maplewood, I've been waiting for a sale on the 22/45 from Turner's too..for quite awhile now. I've been checking weekly ads, with no luck. I've been waiting for it to go down to 200-230, before I finally made the purchase.
I think you are right about certain items being on sale at certain locations that are not listed on the weekly ad..I guess you gotta catch them at the right times. Let me know if you find anything, I'll be sure to let you know too! |

This is not really a great deal if they sold for $199 last year, I'm guessing they will go down to $225 or so before christmas.........or wait till the GSG comes on sale. The Ruger has been on sale for $269 most of the summer according to the summer catalog

They definitely haven't been $269 all summer. I looked at them a few weeks back at Turners Pasadena and they were normal price: $299
I'll admit $30 off isn't superb but who knows if they'll ever do anything better at this point. It's been over a year since this mythical $199 price. |

+1 although...do you guys see the sales being even more aggressive in the near future? I'd hate to jump on this and then see $229 a month or two from now.

Maybe black friday. I decided to pass on the 22/45 and stick to my original thought to wait for the gsg to go on sale, hopefully sooner than later.

Here's a tip for any who want to make their model a removable grip model. I read about this guy on a couple of forums who makes the modification to your lower as well as doing the mag safety and sling shot mods. I just got mine back from him and it's outstanding in fit and function! If you send him your set of grips he'll adjust them to fit while doing the mod. His email is kingshouse41225@gmail.com Here's some photos of his work on my 22/45, I highly recommend him and no, I'm not getting paid for this.

So I just couldn't wait, bought one yesterday for the OTD price of $324.04 from the Torrance Turners (thats the $269.99 deal). Now I want to do the grip panel mods, mag disconnect mod, slingshot mod, and maybe some trigger work.
My buddy bought the GSG 1911 at the same time, it was $385 OTD (got it for $319) Thats a pretty sweet looking gun! I can pick it up on the 23rd so in the meantime I will buy a ultimate mag loader, and maybe get some of the mod stuff.

So I bought the 22/45 and get to pick it up this coming Monday, and I have contacted Doug Stout [kingshouse41225@gmail.com] and have worked out a deal to have him do the grip mod, mag disconnect mod, slingshot mod, and a trigger/sear job, and he is including a Houge wrap around grip. Heres the work he will be doing,
grip mod, supply Hogue wraparound, slingshot. pretravel screw on stock trigger, regrind/polish sear, and fit sam's bushing for $80 (shipping also included) Sam is a guy I think from rimfirecentral web site that makes a mag disconnect bushing. I will pay to ship it to him of course, but that is a good deal I think for a custom "made to my liking" pistol. I get the gun on monday will shoot it the following weekend and then ship to Doug and report back here with pics and review, but I already have read enough to know Doug is the guy to go to on these pistols.

There is a little tab and a spring you can remove from the LCI to disable it and leave the original piece in place. No need to buy anything and looks stock.

Picked up the 22/45 on monday and went to Sharpshooter ranger in Torrance today, gun work perfectly, my coworker who got the GSG 1911 went as well, we bought bought a pack of Minimags for break-in and the Ruger feed perfect but the GSG didn't like the wax coating on them and was jamming with them, tried the Federal red pack I always get a walmart and they worked perfect in both guns, and I have to say I'm a little jealous of that GSG 1911, feels great and shoots great, I will be getting one!
Tomorrow I will be shipping the Ruger off to Doug to have my mods done, will report back
