Default AR-15 .22-Which speed loader to use?

Hi,

Does anyone here use a speed loader when they go to the range? I'm building an AR15 and will be using CMMG magazines, anyone have any experience with these mags and/or speed loaders?

Please post which one and your impressions. Where's the best place to purchase? I've watched a few video reviews on youtube but they dont mention whether or not they work with AR's?

So far from my search I've seen:

Mechanical loader
  1. Butler Creek speed loader
  2. Shooters Ridge speed loader
^Both on this link (Towards the bottom of the page.)

Manual loading
  1. Quick Strip
  2. Christie's Thumb loader

Now its not a huge deal to have one of these but if they work 99% of the time then it would be worth it. I live in CA so I'm limited to 10 rnd mags but don't want to waste time at the range while I could be shooting.

This is my first build/first gun so I may be way off base here, just looking for some information. I tried to make this as organized as I could so in the future when others search they will hopefully find what they need here. If you have anything that you would like to add you can PM me or just post it up here with link and I'll add it. TIA!

That looks nice, my girlfriend, and me after she brought it up, both dislike thumb loading. You get dirty, and after a few bricks, you have had enough.

That is just like my glock mag loader. I think I will pick one up.

That TUFF quick strip looks like a poor excuse for not having speed loaders for a revolver, or not having extra mags for a semi auto.

Take that to the range, you will load your ammo twice. Once in the strip, second in the gun. it will take more time.

Maybe great if you are backpacking, have a .22 pistol, 5 mags, and ten of those strips in a bag.

I think the BDM and CMMG mags are similar so the Christie loader should work as well with the CMMG mag.

Not sure by 'sick old' is a good or bad thing. Can you elaborate a little more or a link to see the product.

That's why I would like one and if it saves a little time that's good too.

I added that just in case people around here needed something like it. I found it here on the forum by searching, maybe they load them up at home then go to the range. Good thought on the back packing part, would be organized and ready to go.

Anyone use one of the crank/mechanical loaders?

Looks like the only crank loader I can find is by Black dog machine/butler creek.

http://blackdogmachinellc.net/loaders.aspx

Kind of expensive but as long as it works that's fine. I'll probably pick one up in the future. They just had a sale for 20% off everything, probably should of got it a few days ago. Haha.
