Default Need advise on a barrel for Rem 870 Express 20 gauge.

I have a 870 Express 20 gauge youth. It's use for skeet/trap and some bird hunting. I am looking to get a longer barrel than the stock 20" barrel. A 26" barrel or 28" barrel.

Anyone has any recommendation on which length barrel is best for trap/skeet and some bird hunting and where is the best place to get them? I've seen lots of 12 gauge replacement barrel but not in 20 gauge.

Thank you!

There are a number of 20 ga barrels in 26" and 28" but they are going to cost you almost as much as the weapon you have. The 28" Vent Rib with Rem choke is Part number 241880 on the Remington parts list and retails there for $245. The 26" is part number 241889 and comes with one choke and is $245.

I know where you can get a used 241880 for $190 including shipping to you. The bore is perfect and the one marks are on the side from the forend rubbing. PM me if interested.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

Ouch! That's a bit more of an investment that I want to put into this gun. I think I'll just keep it as is for my grandson to enjoy someday and save up for the over and under. Thanks for the info. and the offer.
