Arrow Directions to 1N09 shooting area in SB Mtns?

Hi All,

I have read that there are designated shooting areas off Forest Road 1N09 in the San Bernardino Mtns, but in doing a number of keyword searches I can't figure out how to get there off Hwy 330. HAs anyone been there that can give rough directions? Any other tips for the uninitiated (such as quality of the road, frequency of tweakers, etc Thanks!

Mo'sin

Not unless it is called something else (?) Basically I know it is a roughly 12-14 mi. forest road off Hwy 330 that allows shooting when it isn't fire season, and thatt here are 2-3 of these shooting-legal roads that were established in the SB mtns. If I had a GPS I could probably figure it out because the coords. are posted online, but I don't, so i was hoping someone could just offer rough miles/markers to the turnoff. The fed web site describing the opening on Jan 20 last year states "...The Forest Road that leads to the fourteen site target shooting area is approximately one half mile from the City Creek Ranger Station on Highway 330." but I can't find the darn City Creek Station on any online maps!!

you could download google earth for free and punch the coordinates into that and get directions from your home straight to the spot. its a great program, i use it all the time.

That google earth file was posted here by REDHORSE awhile back and I found it to be a great resource for those looking for legal shooting locations.

Manzanita is a long ways away. I think i calculated it to be almost 3 miles exact from the Walmart at the base of the mountain. The trail goes pretty damn deep and your gonna need at least a truck. I drove through a small creek and some pretty deep ruts. Theres also a lot of people already up there doing some shooting. You have to go really deep inside to get a good spot.
