Default Question about Reseda store and consignment guns

I paid for a nice used consignment S&W 686 at the Reseda store a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't DROS it until that 30 day pawnshop hold thingie was over. The hold period is over, I called the store to verify it is indeed a consignment sale and a private party transfer. I wanted to verify as I purchased another handgun a week ago and didn't want to get busted by the one handgun a month rule. To my disgust I was told that Reseda, being in LA has different laws and even though this was private party transfer I can't DROS this one! I'd have to wait until the earliest October 3rd, and there might be a concern the person selling the 686 might not want to wait that long to get his money. I don't get it, why can't they simply send it to Torrance where the PPT is perfectly legal? I'd DROS it tomorrow if I could. I've been a Turner's customer for 25+ years now, can't exceptions be made? Thanks in advance!

Yes, the city has a one-handgun-a-month restriction that does not allow for the PPT/Consignment exceptions allowed by the state 1-HG-Month restriction.

That said, we can make this far more simple for you.

PM sent.

This story has a happy ending. Turner's shipped my 686 to the Pasadena store so I was able to DROS it there this past weekend. And I want to reiterate that this issue was not Turner's making, I just got caught by the goofy laws for the city of L.A. that I was not aware were in place. Many thanks to Turner's!!

For all the bad things I hear about turners, this thread is awesome, great job to step up to the plate and do the transfer at an l.a. county store for this gentleman. Good job stepping up to the plate.

I live in scv and would rather drive the extra 20 min to pasadena rather than reseda. I am a young (22) male and at the reseda store they looked at me like I was just drooling on their counter when I already own 4 handguns and wanted to buy at turners that day with cash.
I was not looked like that in pasedena, I was treated with respect and the.salesman was more than happy to answer my questions.

Vladimir and Don were really helpful in transferring a couple of consignment shotguns to the Signal Hill store. Jeff got me squared away with the DROS.
Saved me at least four hour of driving time.
Just wanted to say thank you.
Richard
