Talking My CZ 527 Carbine

Wanted a bolt action carbine with a removable magazine. It had to be .223 so that I didn't need to add another ammo caliber to the mix (already have a 581 Series Mini 14 Ranch Rifle). I considered a Mossberg MVP Patrol but I owned a long gun with that smooth Mauser action once before (a WWII Gewehr 98), so I went with the 527. The action is as sweet as I remember. I'm very happy with my choice.

With just iron sights

With 3-7x32mm scope

Default How's the Euro style stock work with glass?

I'm tempted to get one, but would prefer a scope.

I love mine in 762x39. Thousands through it. Shoot it all day cheap to feed. Light weight whats not to like.

I have the 527 American in .223. It's light and handy, and I prefer that stock style to the Euro style. CZ 527s are very accurate, even in the light weight versions.

I've been drooling over that rifle for years.

The problem is, if I bought it, it would be for range fun only. I have a hard time holding on to the recreational-only guns.

I would like it even more without a detachable magazine. It throws off the line of the stock, and adds a little complication to the mix.

An iron sighted, mini-express rifle would be fun.

Great looking CZ. That's an American shaped stock. My 527 Ebony is the European style stock.

I have three CZ's in 22lr. An American 452, an American 453, and a 455 Lux. They are all great to shoot and very easy to adjust the trigger weight. Some of my pics are in the Rimfire Gallery. The Americans don't come with factory sights.

Some if not all CZ's have single round mags, but with the 5 rounders, in 22lr, or the 3 rounders in 527 calibers, they don't protrude the stock every much. There are 10 round mags for the 22lr, but I've never liked them.
