Default Ground Squirrel season is on!

Went out on an early season squirrel shoot this afternoon it was in the high 50's to low 60's down here so there were some out. Most of our shooting was at 250 - 500 yards. We probably shot about 80-100 rounds and jumped one coyote but it was concentrating on getting out of the county.

Here we are suffering through the bitter cold

Here's a picture of one squirrel that I got at a little over 300 yards.

Here's the picture taken from the squirrel's point of view back to my truck.

Here's my old Savage 110 in 22.250 that I was whacking squirrels with.

Probably take 'em right into the next county.

Fjold - I use that same table for shooting squirrels. Best $20 I've spent!

If you find "rat city", there is no need to walk around and hunt. It is also not uncommon to shoot 200+ yards for a rat. Shooting that far for a few hours a day, you'll be hunting for a bench

That's my brother on the little table. Here's a link to a video of my brother and me shooting squirrels last year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO8Gd4QLbto#comment

Walking around you can probably shoot 50 -100 squirrels in a busy afternoon. From my bench I can sometimes shoot 50 squirrels an hour out to 600 yards or so. My goal is to kill as many squirrels as possible (for the rancher who lets me shoot on his property).
