I've used the Tulammo in my M1 carbine, but brass ammo is double the price....

It's typical Russian steel ammo. Manufactured at the same plant as Wolf. I've used quite a bit out it over the years and had no issues with it.

If you plan on reloading it's worth the added cost to pick up the brass casing ammo instead though.

Its cheap, realiable, not reloadable NOT corrosive ammo (as some speculate). Shoot it and have funs

Its relatively cheap, you may have FTE issues now and then, but all in all worth it for range use. For self defence, tactical training, or other serious use and I would stick to quality brass cased ammo.

I have shot plenty of it with my Glock 36 over the years. Just fine for plinking out in the desert. It does seem to be a little more dirty, but I clean my guns after I shoot them so not an issue for me.

I've shot various russian ammo (tula, brown bear, etc) through my AR, SIG, and XD9 with no issues. Made sure I performed maintenance clean-up afterwards though.

It's ok, not too accurate but it will get the job done with plinking or practice shooting. I wouldn't use it in a gun that is fragile (older handguns and such) But use it in your Glocks, M&P, Beretta's, XD's. Any modern pistol or revolver will handle the steel casing well.

Hard primers have been a problem I have experienced lately with Russian ammo. Beats me.

I used silver bear steel case (pretty hot stuff for standard 115gr ammo) with my kel-tec p-11. It broke the extractor after a few rounds down range. Basically what I am saying is be careful with steel cased ammo.

Also make sure you CLEAN your guns after using it. It is dirty stuff.

You can find it cheaper online. Silver or Brown Bear as well, and they're all basically the same. Yeah, they burn dirty.

OR... save money and get brass cased ammo that burns cleanly, is more accurate, and is more reliable (I used to shoot a lot of russian steel stuff, and had bum primers every 500 or so rounds): www.usaammo.com ....$8.45 or something in that range for 9mm. Once fired brass reloads. Nice quality.

^^^^^^you bought federal and winchester for less than $9.47 a box? I doubt it, once you count in shipping, it's usually more

shot hundreds of that in 45 acp, but after my second bad primer last week i'm sticking to something a bit more reliable. and i'm planning to reload soon so the extra brass helps motivate me.

never said they're not worth it, but for an extra $2 at my lgs, i get the new remmys with the nickel plated cases.

accuracy wise, i don't notice much difference, maybe a little less consistent. although with thin paper targets, tul and wolf ammo tears the paper more than remington or federal. the latter just punches neater holes.

No problems shooting the russian steel cased ammo in my Glocks, but I probably wouldn't buy it for a gun that I would baby.

Its also called Tula Ammo, not Tulammo. They're just trying to be cute with the box graphics. The "A" is part of both separate words....

My HK USP gobbled them up no probs (and I clean up my gear after shooting as well). This reminds me...I'm going to pickup a bunch for my CCW training this weekend.

Friend of mine brought some for the range and out of his XD9 Tactical he had 7 or 8 FTFs out of 50rnds. I looked at the primers and they where all dented up pretty good from the firing pin but it didn't fire. I guess for blasting they are good and you get better at clearing jams. LOL Reloading is easy and if you do it right you'll have an even better ammo than store bought stuff.

Reloading steel cased ammo? I wouldn't advise it, But I am not a reloader I have just always been told to not try and reload steel cases.

Anyone want to explain?

Walmart is right down the street from me and usually always have tula in 45acp but rarely have it in federal or wwb so I started buying it and 300 rds through my ria compact model haven't had a problem... In fact even if I had a bad primer or fte I would still buy the stuff because after 300 rounds of any ammo I'd be expecting it.. Especially in cheapo range ammo

If you shop online, you can get Speer Lawman, Sellier & Bellot, Federal or CCI Blazer Brass for under $9.99 per box (9mm). And to answer your question, Tula is ammo, but it's NOT in my "good" category.

If you like stinky steel cased ammo that really dirties up your gun, then yea, jump on that... Works good though.

Stinky sweet smelling Tula. They sure are dirty but they work.
I stick with brass cased ammo but I buy a box once in awhile.

I swear, and I say this everytime I see a "my gun is having problems...... and I'm using the cheapest ammo on the market" post... It's like people (not you people of course) who buy the cheapest non-name brand tires for their vehicles, and then wonder why the ride is noisy and why the tread life sucks. Buy your ammo online from guys who actually specialize in selling LOTS of ammo, and your problems will be solved, and then you won't need to buy Russian at the range because it's $5 less per box than everything else on the shelf.

Shoot Tula all the time out of a G17, G26, and an XD Service. Never a problem. It's my cheap go-to ammo for times when I know I'm not going to be picking up brass, like at the APR at Sac Valley.

In the indoor range, its fun to watch the occasional spark or two in front of the barrel when you shoot it.

^^same here. Tula is dirty ****, but you should clean your gun after every outing anyway. The federal shoots just the same IMO, but it is cleaner.

Passed my CCW shooting proficiency test using Tula in the first pass.

It can't be all that bad.

they're not bad, and at the price, you kinda expect a few bad apples every now and then. but some people expect match grade performance at bottom barrel prices.

Bought some, had my one and only FTFi with the 380 auto and a Bersa Thunder. Definitely stinks and IMO is not as accurate as other cheap target ammo. There are several places that sell S&B for about $10/50 including shipping so I decided it wasn't worth it to drive out to WMT.

My G17 had no problems with this ammo except for the smell and soot.

Same as all other Russian ammo. Made in the same factory, different box.
I use it anywhere that allows steel case.

I've never had a single firearm have a problem with it and it has never damaged or worn my firearms. It is pretty dirty though, so get ready to spend an hour cleaning haha.

I've shot it through: ARs, AKs, Glocks, Rugers, KelTecs, Hi-Points, whatever.
Never any malfunctions with it.

Just tried two boxes of 7.62 out of my AK over the weekend... I had three duds in there/Fail to eject... Would never trust for defense or hunting. However for super cheap shooting at watermelons and tannerite. Why not?
