tac 47 sells an auto plug that you can't go wrong with. if you're gun is under gassed though you'll need to address that problem first the auto plug doesn't fix that, nor will any other gas regulator.

The gun works fine even with birdshot, it runs a bit to hard with 00 mil spec buck shot. I am up in la @RLTW. I appreciate that offer, Which one do you think works best for you?

If its shooting fine don't mess with it.
Is your Saiga converted?

I take it you are adjusting the gas plug 1 for Magnum rounds (00, slugs) and 2 for light loads when firing the 00 mil spec?

Both are fine kind of like Ford and Chevy.
MD ARMS V-PLUG ADJUSTABLE GAS KNOB

TAC 12 T.G.R.S PLUG [Tactical Gas Regulating System]

The strange thing or is it, with Saiga 12s they have a mind of their own no two are a like.

I bought both plugs because after doing my conversion it wouldn't fire the cheap walmart ammo. My issue was it was undergased and I had to open up the gas ports.

I am running the Tac 47 plug right now. no reason just thats what I had installed when I went out last shooting trip.

The gun is converted and has the 3 hole gas port. I think its a bit over gassed for the 00 buck on the 2 setting. I will try it out with MD arms plug. You are right about leaving things alone if they work. Russian guns can be temperamental ... Too much vodka on factory lunch...

I guess I don't understand your problem. Setting 2 is for light loads, if its over-gassed on setting 2 then just switch it to setting 1. Or are you just looking for a plug that is easier to switch without pushing in the little button? I always shoot buck and slugs on setting 1.

Plug needs to be on setting 1 for 00 and slugs. That will solve your issue, and you can use the money to buy more ammo.

As well if you continue to shoot 00 on setting 2 you may crack your rear trunnion over time.

Do a search on another Saiga web fourm.. that is addressed concerning that issue.
