It is real... whether or not Botach fulfills your order however, is a crapshoot.

This tells me a couple things, either aimpoint products are waaaaayyyyyy overpriced and vendors have TONS of wiggle room on price, or, botach is just looking to make a better name for itself.

The difference between "vendor" or dealer pricing, is significantly higher than distributor pricing.

Also, most people who are "vendors" don't exactly have the large sum of $$ to
buy into Aimpoint and be a dealer...Thus they go through 3rd party who is a dealer or distributor.
Places such as RSR or Sports South or Operation Parts or DSG...

Thanks for tuning into this weeks episode of "how things work".

Thanks for the reply to my post. So is Botach a vendor or distributor?

Friends do not let Friends buy from Botach. There is not enough space on this thread for me to talk about the terrible experience I had with this company. The only thing positive I can say is thanks to American Express and their power to stop payment.

Bottom line, if you are thinking about ordering from them, call their customer service number or send an e-mail to their customer service. There absolute lack of response will indicate what type of company and customer service experience you will receive. Call a few time and send a few e-mails, and see if you can get responses back. Yes, prices are great but you order at your own risk. You will not know if they have it in stock and when you will get the item and if the item is what you ordered. If you are still on the fence go out to and Google the sight for reviews. You will find many, many, many post on this company and the horror stories when dealing with them. With so many complaints, a bell should go off. Learn from my mistake, since I did not do my research.

They have a "110% price difference" matching scheme that is total BS. What they imply and what they actually follow through on are totally different. I was going to order an ACOG through them because I was told (via their website) that they would knock 110% of the difference between the price someplace else and their listed price. So I tracked down an ad for one on sale elsewhere for $100 less, emailed it to them, and got ready to get a great deal. They sent me a quote that was like $1.10 cheaper than the ad I sent in, along with some incomprehensible explaination about how the 110% is calculated. Needless to say, I didn't bother. I understand that they are a business. But playing stupid games like that with potential customers is crap. I will not buy anything from a company that wants to play those kinds of games.

that's a screamin' deal!

When it sound too good to be true it usually is... but I just added to cart and went to checkout... did everything all the way to enter cc number (because I dont need one, I didnt continue)...

Either Botach is really trying to change their rep - or somethin's really fishy about that deal... I cant imagine they would pull any funny business at a time that they are trying to clear their history.

If I needed another magnifier I'd go for it...

Eh, it's pretty good, but 'screamin' would be both the PRO and the magnifier half off.

I wonder if it is new in the box or a knock off. I have heard of places selling used (i.e. returned, reconditioned, etc) items and not telling the user or even worse, telling them in the paperwork with the shipped item. I have also heard of some less than reputable sights selling fake items. If it is too good to be true there is a reason for that. Any legitimate site will say why the item is so low, like they are close out, overstock, etc.

Regardless of Botach's customer service experience, just don't forget that there are people taking advantage of this low price and buying it from them and turning around and selling them at higher prices.....so the orders are being fulfilled for some.

Looks like the guys at ar15 found out the catch, such as it is. The magnifiers are genuine Aimpoint, but looks like gray market through a foreign distributor, so Aimpoint USA is saying they won't honor the warranty.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_18/54...__.html&page=4

Given that they're genuine, I'd probably still consider it. At this point, I'm more interested in the Micro T1 than the PRO, though.

i dont think its a knockoff...i took more pix of the actual unit..i did remove the spacer to alighn with my ironsight and red dot thats why the screws seem longer..other than that it alighns perfect with my comp m4..i have no complaints except for the haters on this board.

50% off is a deal that's hard to pass up. Botach is doing a great service to the general public considering they even make a profit off of this.

So what does that say about Aimpoint and Eotech? Yes, they've been bending you over all these years and you always wondered why they never charge for the lube.

I refuse to own anything from those two companies knowing they rip off civilians just like they do with the military.

i don't think anyone is hating. Its just people don't want to be sold on a bill of goods that is supposedly a great buy then come to find out its a fake. There are to many very good clones in the market now a days and people don't want to spend there hard earned money on a fake one

make fun of them but I now know of two people that got it just fine and at the price.

A dealer friend is telling me that it is non US distributor most likely from Europe or Israel so they will not honor the warranty, but you know what....will the aimpoint ever really break down on you?>?

According to aim point botach is an authorize dealer and these are genuine aimpoint products, botach purchased them from a Distributor outside of the u.s, therefore any warranty work must be through botach instead. Source is directly from sales rep at aimpoint via e mail to someone who bought or were looking to buy the product...entire convo is posted on the link above to ar15.com...just scroll down a bit.

Aimpoint will honor the warranty. They have to because it's their product and you purchased it from an authorized dealer with the warranty card. They are saying this to calm the other dealers down. Btw it was a great deal while it lasted. I got mine.

Looks legit and an unintended good consequence for AimPoint. Their magnifiers were always a little too expensive and now they have a ton of competition in that realm (i.e. Vortex VMX3, PA Gen III, Lucid).

I know there are some people that have had disappointing dealings with Botach, but I'd like to say that I ordered a 3x magnifier on August 11 for $350 shipped.

It arrived today. The magnifier appears to be new and unused with the appropriate manual and hex key wrenches.

Like in the YouTube videos promoting this deal, I also got a nice nylon Molle pouch for the magnifier.

I couldn't be more pleased.
