If you read the title of this thread "Last Minute Xmas Gift. Lite Tech LED Gun Safe Light Kit, make your safe nice & bright"

how does that fit in with "Hey honey, see that empty box? That's your xmas present, just have patience!!"

FYI
I ordered two units on 12/31.....paid with Paypal.
They have not responded to my PM's...Email...or Phone message.
I find it hard to believe that someone that does business on the interenet!
Will take time off without any way to have an internet connection to get on
his business. By the way where does one go without internet available?

Has anyone here tried using the leds with re-chargeable batteries?

I only have re-chargeable AA at home and using 8x fully charged AA did not work. I know the lights work using wall power.

Anyone else have this problem?

FWIW- I installed a 12v, 500ma wall-wart transformer. Works perfectly... (until the power goes out, of course ).

Rechargeable AA's are only 1.2v while alkalines are 1.5v.

Apparently @9.6v isn't enough to run the LEDs, so you'll need to try 9 or 10 cells if you want to run rechargeable batts.

Just buy the power supply from my link. Never have to worry about batteries again. For the price of two sets of batteries it pays for itself.

I purchased the large safe kit in blue with an extra 20" light strip for my Winchester R19 safe. Powered by the A/C adaptor. This light kit is awesome. What a great product! Thanks

Nice meeting you yesterday at the Ventura show! You said that you didn't have any blue kits left when I spoke to you so how do I order the gun show special from your website? I need a large safe kit in blue please.

Thanks,

This kit is Awesome by the way.

I keep forgetting to post about it. I got mine and immediately went to work installing it. I was previously using 4 small fluorescent type lights that i had attached in various spots with Velcro. Total AA Batteries used was 8 and they only lasted about a year before needing to be replaced, and bulsb did not last long either.

Not only that but I never really got full lighting inside the safe and would have to take on of the lights off and hold it while looking through safe. This kit rocks and lights up my safe like never before. Not only that but it take two less batteries and I expect it will last much longer with those batteries.

Only down side for me was I have no way to attach the switch to be able to have it come on automatically when my door opens.

I know this isn't very practical but I installed a motion sensor in my safe to control my lights. It activates once the door moves and they stay on for 2 minutes. The sensitivity and length of time they stay on is adjustable and it plugs right in between the power supply and lights.

That motion sensor will work if you are running AC adapter, if using batteries, than the motion sensor will not be recommended since it draw power even when it is off.

Hey all I had to register just to reply to this thread. I am very impressed with what I have seen from this product. I would like to order a kit, but wanted to see if anyone has any pictures of the red and/or amber light kits before I make the purchase. I sent the company an email about the red and amber pics but never got a response.

Just picked up a large safe kit today at the Costa Mesa gun show. Thanks for the Calgunner's special! This is a high quality kit and it puts out a LOT of light (got the white LED's). Awaiting for my safe to arrive; photos to come after install.
