Default cheepo gun safe

has anyone seen these. i am not all that worried about theft.. it will be in my garage and all my neigbors know me. it would be prety hard for someone to spend 15 minutes banging away without someone stoping by to say "hi" day or night. I am just interested in preventing a "smash n grab" synario, or accidently leaving the garage unlocked and one of the local kids gettin curious. cheep as it may be, it is a lot of money so i was wondering if anyone has seen / used one of these

http://cgi.ebay.com/Diamond-Back-20-...QQcmdZViewItem

as an added bonus iit seems to fit my fairly tight space constraints

I would not call that safe "cheap" at all. You want cheap? These are cheap safes.....

you can pick up a Sentry 14 gun from Walmart for around $350 - they do not provide fire protection, but they are still half the cost your posting.

Buy the winchester safe at sams club - in store price $589 - just as good and made in Texas by Granite safe not china (maybe uses chinese steel tho).

If you want the safe listed in EBAy you can get it cheaper

http://www.zykansafe.com/diamondgunsafes.html

This links takes you to a guy that is on thehighroad.com and he gives a member discount. He has those safes.

The Ebay safe has free shipping.....I think that is worth the extra $$$$, as shipping a heavy safe is expensive!

Just my$.02

Seems ok to me. The one from walmart that I was talking about is almost 100$ more than that

I did a remodel on it today, I added a shelf, replaced another that had a big hole in it, changed the rifle rack so the front row can be pulled straight out, added a cool litle cutout so my 14.5" m4 is out of the way and put upolstery everywhere I found myself cliping my guns when takeing them in and out.. "look honey, I have room for 4 more rifles", she thinks it is ok to have empty rifle slots

harbor freight has non-fireproof for $249 right now, they aren't technically "gun" safes tho but its obvious that its for guns.. lol

iono how sales work for hf in the south but up here they are on sale for $249 even tho site has listed for 399

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=95824

costco also has a Winchester brand safe that's 24 gun and guaranteed for 30 minutes at 1400 degrees for 499. Couldn't find a link to it but they had them up here at most the costcos
