Default Question regarding listing

You noted in your last thread the price was lowered, but in the original thread the price is the same. Is the lower price correct?
Thanks, Tom

Yup price was $365 + Shipping I think. Then I edited the top to reflect the change and noted it below.

I was actually considering parting out my 10/22. Here's what it has:

Built on standard 10/22
Stock trigger with Volquartsen hammer
Stock bolt with Volquartsen extractor
Volquartsen 20" stainless steel barrel (18.5" with 1.5" compensator)
Volquartsen barrel mounted scope mount
Bell and Carlson Anschutz stock
Leupold QRW Medium rings
Burris 4-12x32 compact scope (I may be wrong on the objective lens)

This is all from memory. I'm at work so I can't look at the rifle.

If you're interested in any or all of it, I'll come up with a price.

It shoots ok, but not great. It shoots about the same, if not worse that my 16" Volquartsen Tension barrel. The stock needs to be rebedded. I bedded about 2" of the barrel closest to the receiver, but it will definitely shoot a lot better if the receiver is bedded in the front and rear.

FYI: Not a single brush passed through this bore. I do not use brushes (not even nylon or those dreaded Boresnakes) in my rimfire bores, especially a Volquartsen barrel. Cleaned only using a Patchworm.

I just priced it out in my head and I think I'll just hang on to it. Discounting all the parts for used prices, it's only about $500 for the rifle without the scope. The rifle is worth more than $500 to me at this point, and I don't need the money for any projects right now.

$200 for the barrel
$125 for the stock
$125 for the rest of the rifle (receiver, bolt, trigger group)
$20 for the scope mount
$20 for the rings
not sure on the scope

Sorry to tease you with my original post.

If you decide to built from scratch, just get the base model 10/22. Sell the barrel, stock, and barrel band on ebay or forums. Get a Volquartsen THM tension barrel. Pick the stock that works for you. Get the Volquartsen target hammer and Exact Edge Extractor. You'll be good to go after you pick whichever mounts you want (I like the Volquartsen barrel mounted scope mount). I wouldn't get the extended mag release if you plan on shooting this rifle offhand. The mag release gets in the way of your support hand.

Thanks, I am looking at $400 tops. I would but its my friend that wants one and is just starting to even shoot guns. Since he has plenty of money to throw, a well stocked rifle would be good.

Depending on if you can get the factory 10/22 for $200 after tax and DROS, you can do it for $400. You *should* be able to get a Green Mountain barrel and a Hogue overmold bull barrel stock for $200. $500 is a good price point since it will give you breathing room.

The best thing to do would be to check the used market for a factory 10/22.

If you go new, you can sell the factory wood, barrel, and barrel band, for at least $40.

Good luck with this project.
