Default The Metal Gear Solid Collection

One can never be too big of a MGS fan. Its funny how childhood interests grow into collections. lol. Anyways, just thought I'd share my Metal Gear collection. For those of you that don't know what Metal Gear is, it was a groundbreaking stealth action-adventure game that came out on Playstation 1 back in 1998. It was one of the most well received games of all time and is well known for its cinematic style and plot twists.

First up, my "AK-102" approximation (from MGS4) and my AKS-74U (from MGS 2). The only true AK-102 type rifle's I've seen are made by Arsenal and are not Cali legal so a black AKM is about as close as I can get. I built both rifles from parts.

Close up of my 74U

Next, my XM16E1 clone (MGS 3) and Snake's M4 Custom (MGS 4). The M4 still needs a PRI flip site, free float rail, and midieval brake to be accurate but funds are limiting project completion for now. The XM needs a 3 prong brake and an A1 delta ring but its close enough for now.

Next, my MGS handgun collection. I did the paintjob on the case myself.

My Patriot (MGS 3) and Socom (MGS 1,2,4). I decided to go with a 9mm for the AR pistol due to ammo costs.

Springfield Operator (MGS 4) and Beretta M9 (MGS 2)

And of course, the Mosin Sniper (MGS 3 & 4).

MGS3 was the best out of the series, IMO.

You're missing a few stuff, like the solar gun and the tornado-creating musket Tanegashima.

You do have an awesome collection though.

Very nice collection

However, you need to give credit where credit is due. MG was first released on the NES system in 1987 (1988 in North America)

Metal Gear Solid is the best damn game ever. I still remember playing it at my friends house on PS1. My favorite game of all time. I loved the sniper duel with Sniper Wolf.

lol. I know you are being sarcastic but, trust me, I would if i had the money. Unfortunately, CA laws don't leave loopholes for those at all. I could do a clone PSG-1 but thats still $5k and a 2 year wait for parts that I don't have yet. lol. Also, even if the FA-MAS was legal, there are only 88 of them in the country and in the hands of wealthy private collectors that hold onto them for a LONG time. I've only ever seen one listed on gunbroker and the asking price was $15,000.

.
You could always do a mock up of a PSG-1 built on a Hk91(clone) platform and save some cash. As for the Famas, I didnt even know there were any transferable.

Lemme know if you find an actual metal gear for sale though (transferable of course)

Wow nice collection!

Jager beat me too it, you are missing the original Metal gear games from the NES. I have the first one, and its the hardest Metal gear I've played, I was never able to finish it.

Metal gear solid is on my top 5 list of best games of all time.

I know its a rather old thread but I found this in a search and wanted to share my MGS airsoft guns. Can't buy the real thing buy a toy like it =P I used to play a lot of airsoft before I got into real guns, then again I've been shooting real guns longer I guess...

Here is my MGS collection but with airsoft guns
MGS1 (Famas, MK23 Socom) MGS2 (M9 (yeah it was suppsoe to be a dart gun), USP)

PSG1 (MGS1)

Drgunov (MGS3)

AKS74U (Sorta, TM Beta Spetsnaz, i believe the reason Tokyo Marui released this one is due to MGS2, they use the skeleton stock AKS74U, this is one is setup very simlar to the one in the game)

Unrelated to MGS but I felt old when a coworker had no idea what I was talking about when I asked him if UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A SELECT START meant anything to him.

I am not positive but I am pretty sure that the creators of MG used Kyle Reese from The Terminator as inspiration for the MG game cover.

That's the rumor anyway.

And in the OP's defense, he was saying Metal Gear Solid was released originally on the PSOne back in 98. Now had he said the Metal Gear series, then he would have been wrong.

Just a little semantics there for you guys

And for the record - MGS made me want a PSG-1 as well
