Default deactivated grenade launcher a feature?

Hi. i got a fal and it came with a grenade launcher. I welded a piece of keystock over a small part of it so it is now no longer a gl. Is it still a feature if i wanted to go featurless with a grip wrap or do i need to take it off? Im not sure if it is now just a muzzle brake or is it a??? Thanks.

Follow the flowchart, see step 12.

Basicly you cant have a GL/Flare launcher on a featureless rifle,as a G/Flare launcher is a prohibited feature.

Plus your home de-mil of the GL would be sketchy and hard to defend in court.

Yes i am aware of the flowchart. I am specifically asking what a properly deactivated gl woul be once it is no longer able to accept and launch grenades.

Well in that case it would be a paperweight.

However, in the case of a De-Milled GL on a featureless rifle, I'm sure most DA's would follow the "If it looks like a duck.." line of logic.

Me Personally I would not risk a felony for looks sake.

Ok. Was wanting to keep it all original as possible but i guess a aftermarket brake will have to do if i want to go featurless. Thanks.

Ahh, my head hurts now, total Brain Fart on my part. I was under the impression it was an underslung GL, not an inline. Sorry.

In the case of an inline GL, you should be able to demill it much like they did with the Yugo 59/66 SKS, and not have to chop it.

Once again sorry for the misinfo.

I dont know to what extent it would need de-milling to no longer be considered a functional GL to avoid AW status.

Oh lol. I was told by a reputable person in the black rifle world that welding a piece of metal on the side so a gl cant slide on would be acceptable but i wasnt sure it it was still a feature. but yes it is exactly like how the yugo 59/66 is done. So it should be ok on a featurless then?
