Question Mossberg is giving me a pistol grip for free... What should I know?

In response to my email they responded pretty quick with this offer:

Thank you for your e-mail. We do apologize but we do not give reimbursement on shipping but we can get you a pistol grip for your firearm if you would like. Please let us know by contacting us at our service center, the contact information is on this e-mail.

So, assuming I even have options when I call tomorrow, are there any particular grips that Mossberg makes that I should see if I can request?

Also, are there any particular legalities I should be aware of with a pistol grip?

It's a Mossberg 500.

I think it's a standard mossberg 12 PG

as long as your barrel length is over 18" there are absolutely no legal issues for a moss 500

Newp, as long as you are over the minimum length with it. I would make them cough up the new ATI Telescoping one with the cheekpad and gel pistolgrip. Scorpion something or other.

the factory pistol grip is pretty wide, and MAN will your hand be sore after a few rounds of anything medium hight or more brass.
