Default Recommendations on small 9 mm pistol?

Currently, I carry a .45 during cool weather when I'm wearing an overshirt of some sort.

In warm weather, I go with a XD-9 subcompact. This has been more concealable with a light shirt and my preferred IWB holster (Comptac Minotaur).

I'm interested in something that is even smaller such as a Kahr or whatever. I'd prefer 9mm but would consider .380 or .38.

Any recommendations?

Buddy of mine carries a 5 shot .38 in his pocket. He was carrying the other day when we were out and I was surprised to hear he had it on him as I couldn't see a thing and assumed he wasn't carrying.

I don't own any wheel guns, but sort of assumed that an LCR or something similiar would be fairly wide at the cylinder and more difficult to conceal than a small, single stack 9 mm pistol.

I've handled an LCR and a similiarly sized Smith and while they are amazingly light, I'm not sure the small advantage of this is worth the trade off of only having 5 rounds available.

Thoughts? Experiences?

If you like that XD-9, check out the Walther P99c.. I chose it over the XD-9. Beautiful and it is "compact" hence the "C" designator. 10+1 and 9mm.

LC9. Thin and lightweight. If you don't mind the long trigger full.

I have a PM9 and like it a lot. Only draw back is the slide lock is very sharp. Cut my thumb the last time out. I need to take the slide lock to a dremel or even a file.

Never handled the LC9 but it looks nice. I went for the PM9 because it lacked the thumb safety of the LC9. Prior to the PM9 I had a LCP and Bodyguard .380 which I found to small to shoot.

Edit:

because I like pictures, here are my chosen three,
Kahr PM9, Glock 36, Glock 29.

lolz . . .

As i always commented, shooter can leave the thumb safety if they not prefer to use it (that's what i did and its here with me right now @ 3 o'clock). Just think about it as an added bonus if you use the thumb safety.

Not to thread jack from the OP, but that Kahr PM9 looks really small compared to the other two.

Very nice.

I'll second that.. um third that!!!

The EMP9 is a very sweet gun, light, accurate, slim & disappears in a crossbreed. Me likes.

Have, carry and love my PM9. Have other options but it is pocket carry-able and for more concealment/ease of access the minituck.
