Default Glock 19 shooters or any glock shooters

I started the DROS on my G19 today. My question is about the sights, I like the stock sights and shot the rental well with those sights. If I do decide to go to a NS or the Tru glo tfo sights. What have you found to be the best sights for a glock with minimal problems? I have looked at Novak, Heinie straight eights, 10-8 etc. Thanks also do you let a local gunsmith do the job or send the slide in for the work to be done?

I love the 10-8 sights on my G19. I did the swap myself with a borrowed sight pusher.

I have a truglo green fiber optic front on my g17 and used a sharpie to black out the rear goal post sight for a quick sight picture. Works great for me. Just bought a g20 and the first mod was the same sight on the front but I'm going to go with a fiber optic rear because I'm not using the g20 for uspsa like I am the g17.
Of course I hate the stock glock sights. They look like something that a non shooter would put on a gun if someone told them what a sight was without seeing one, especially the rear

I've tried a bunch of different sights on my G19, settled on Defoor Black/Black sights and Black/Front Green sight. Ameriglo retails them for Kyle Defoor. A close second for me would be a Warren/Sevigny set up. Prefer a thin front sight. Read more on it at M4Carbine - Defoor Sights

A BIG one + on that. 10-8 sights are on 3 of my 4 Glocks and have a wonderful sight picture. Another big plus is when you get a jammed case in the chamber it has a grab point on the front of the rear sight you can use to use to but up against a table, tree or whatever is around to get the slide to the rear. It gives you much more leverage than just using your hand. I have needed it on several occasions, all with factory ammo BTW.

Mail your slide to Glock if you want night sights. Meprolights installed and shipped back to you for under $70.

I have the stock Mepro night sights on my G23, and they light up bright and seem to do the job good enough. I am interested is XS Express Sights which are the dot the "i" configuration. I have heard mixed reports, some say that they are not as accurate, while others completely swear by them.

I just pick up a PM40 that has a dot the "i" type of sighting system, so I figure I'll make my decision based on my experience with those.

All of that for $70? Are they any good? I don't know anything about night sights and haven't even looked into them at all, but I feel like I'd jump on that.

If you like the original sights why change them? Can't remember why but I didn't care for the G19 sights. so I replaced them with a set of Sevigny Competition sights w/fiber optic front. The rear is oversized so a little filing to fit the dovetail and a brass punch were used for installation. Front sight uses a 3/16” hex screw, I believe most aftermarket glock front sights are the same.

OEM plastic Glock sights work best for me in daylight. In low light conditions its meprolight or trijicon.

I like Warren Tactical Sights but if you like the factory sights, you should get the Trijicon sights for Glock.

I have a Glock 19 and I have Ameriglo Hackathorn orange sights. There great. Another sight I would look at is the Trijicon HD which is similiar to the Hackathorn / 10-8 sights. It has the large orange front sight and a U notch for the rear with 2 dots. I may purchase one for my next glock purchase.

I'm running the Tru-Glo TFO's in Green/Green and have no complaints. Easy to pick up during the day and in the dark, and easy to pick up again after you flash your light in the dark to ID a target.

Another set of sights that I like are the Heinie Straight 8's. I like the 2 dot style and found them to be very quick and easy to pick up and acquire a good sight picture with.

You can't go wrong with either.

They compliment the firearm well, and I'd have it no other way.

My G17 came with the factory night sights, the are VERY similar to the Trijicons on my G30. Trijicons cost around $130 installed a few years back.

Meprolight night sights are without a doubt the best made Glock night sights, those and the factory Glock night sights which are made by Meprolight.

What's the real-world effect/difference between trijicon and meprolight? Why do you prefer one or the other?
