Its a Fed Ord M14 in a Karsten painted stock with a scout rail and Clonepoint. That clone point has held up pretty well for a 200 round session and the handguard got hot enough that I could barely touch it.

Here is my old "Bush" rifle. It originally had a folding stock on it, but that was not fun to shoot in that configuration. I sold that stock and picked up a USGI walnut stock with the selector switch cut-out. I recently swapped that stock out for a current factory synthetic stock:

I've reached a point in my California gun nut maturation where I have decided I need a M1A.

My three M1As... Whisky, Tango and Foxtrot

My first M1A Standard with a 5.5 ACOG
Attachment 7714

M1A SuperMatch with a Nightforce 3.5-15x50
Attachment 7715

M1A SOCOM with an Aimpoint CompML3
Attachment 7716

(yeah, I like the JAE 100 stock!)

Actually, I have a JAE GEN II on order. When it shows up I switching it out with the stock on the SuperMatch. If you interested, I'll be putting it up for sale once the other stock shows up. I'll post with a price when the time comes.

The owners had the 10+ round magazines before 2000.

I just thought they had some kind of exempt from the law, because i see them much more often then pre-ban hi-cap AR and AK mags

I hope that mag is pinned and is a 10/20 rounder; 'cause invisiblity is an evil feature.

That is one awesome DuraCoat camo job, but I'm guessing it has limited effectiveness in other environments.

gosparx! I have to know how Whiskey performs with the 5.5 ACOG! That is the EXACT rifle I am planning to build in the next year or so. JAE-100 stock with a 5.5 ACOG. I figured it would make a fairly accurate, fast target aquisition Designated Marksman Rifle.

It's a great combo. I love the ACOG sights. I haven't tried swapping between targets to see how fast reacquisition is. Sounds like something fun to try out!

Maybe I'll toss some clay pigeons around at 100yrds, then switch back and forth between shooting clay and shooting various steel from 200yrds out to 600yrds.

Sounds like a good excuse to head out to the range tomorrow!!

Maybe I'll also take my Garand and try it 'old school'.

Just got done painting mine, it is a PolyTech M-14S bought from Ades before I went to Iraq. now that Im back I've spent some money at midway buying the scope mount and bipod/bipod mount, plus the synthetic stock from freds. what do you think. the paint job is a Krylon rattlecan special using a hand made digi template loosely based off of MARPAT.

By the way, Teri, your Magpul isn't doing its job in your pic. It's mounted up too high.

Nice modern vs classic clash

Other than the obvious (stock & OPROD) what else did you replace?

I only replaced the stock. It is shockingly heavier with the wood stock compared to the black fiberglass stock.
