If the number in you username is any indicator, you're within an hour of some pretty solid USPSA clubs.

Feel free to checkout the USPSA club finder. I think it might be up to date (that's a general joke that we have about the USPSA website)
http://www.uspsa.org/locate-uspsa-clubs.php

You'll also see some clubs post notices about upcoming matches in this subforum. Reach out to the organizers. I'm sure they'll all be happy to get you situated.

Good luck!

There aren't any regularly scheduled practice events that I know of (like up in Richmond). But there are a crap ton of matches pretty much every day of every weekend.

Hit the Norco match a few times, most of us there will be down for midweek training. At least one M or GM is also doing paid private lessons out there.

Norco, Prado, or Piru are the outdoor ranges w/ some form of membership and open bays. There's a couple indoor ranges where you can draw and shoot. And as mentioned before, there are no scheduled "practice" events.

How good do you want to get? And how much time do you have to commit?

I have some free time during the week and would love to meet with folks to train. I am a new bee though and can't really offer advice.

Do you happen to know how much the training costs?

NRG and PRG has a new shooter briefing at beginning of the match.

However, if you are looking for practice/ training time with instructor outside a match.. Specifically on practical shooting.

Sound off how many interested please..

Focusing on fundamentals and skills for practical shooting...

Thanks!

Count me in for some training. I found that when I went to a match, everyone seemed to know exactly what to do / where to go etc.
It's easy to say "just come to the match" but I think a lot of newbies would like to have (say) three simple stages set up and be able to be walked through. That way they could turn up at a match with half an idea of what's going on, and they'd know they were going to be safe, know instructions, etc.

I agree.....

We used to hold a course for the same reason as our club is quite busy.

How long of a course you think is good? 1/2 day?

Depending on final schedule, likely Raahauge's or Prado..

Both ranges are close to each other

Corona/Eastvale/Chino area

I think that would be about right.
Another bonus is not having 30 seasoned shooters watching you...
