Default Deadwood Boys USPSA All-Classifier Match - 07 Aug 2016 - Piru (SoCal - LA/Ventura)

Join us on Sunday, August 7th for our "All-Classifer" USPSA match. Whether you are new to USPSA shooting, are looking to improve your classification, or are trying to get your initial classification in a new division, this match will give you the chance to knock out your classification in one day. The match will be six stages and will feature set-squadding and stage ROs to help keep the day moving. Competitiors will also be allowed to register to shoot in up to two divisions.

Preregistration for the match is now open on Practiscore: https://practiscore.com/deadwood-boy...match/register and is filling fast. Make sure to register separately for each division you want to shoot. Match fees are $30 for range members and $40 for non-members for your first division and $20 for your second division.

There will be FOOD! We will have PJ and his family cooking some delicious Filipino BBQ Skewers available for $2 each as well as hot links, teriyaki meatballs, water and sodas. So make sure to bring your appetities!

Need ammo? We have remanufactured competition-quality ammunition for sale at every match at very reasonable prices. Contact Sam Houston at 714-329-6484 or samhouston@deadwoodboys.org for more info. Pricing is available here: http://dbcartridge.com/. Due to strong demand, all ammo orders must be placed prior to the match.

Here are the classifier stages that we are going to be shooting at this match: 09-03 "Oh No," 13-03 "Short Sprint Standards," 13-05 "Tick Tock," 06-05 "Fluffy's Revenge 2," 99-24 "Front Sight 2," and everyone's favorite 99-11 "El Presidente."

Thanks Tanks. Scores have been posted on Practiscore already (https://practiscore.com/results/24014). I should have them up on the USPSA site tonight - tried to do it last night but got home late and didn't have time.

Maybe we'll try to do something next year before the magazine laws change. Follow @DeadwoodBoys on Facebook for the next match announcement.

I will drive to the next all classifier. I just want to gear up and get it done. Baseline myself so I know what specific things to work on for the next one.

I don't know if there is any truth to it, but I heard word of mouth the USPSA thinks not very fondly of "Classifer Specific" matches, so they're often few and far between. Prado Running Gun used to have one once a year, and this year they didn't have one, so most people jumped on with DWB when they announced theirs a few months ago. If they were held more often than once or twice a year, I'd be very (albeit pleasantly) surprised.

Great questions, hope this helps:

Per USPSA Rules, each sanctioned USPSA club can offer up to 2 times a year, a Level 1 Special Classifer match and include up to 6 classifiers.

The premise is to get each member classified in preparation for that competitor to enter a Level II and above USPSA match, as these matches require membership at minimum. While classification to enter a Level II and above is not required, it makes sense to be classified versus entering the match as "U" Unclassified.

Every competitor gets classification in USPSA for their own reasons, but note, it's is a "moving target" as more people shoot USPSA matches that include a classifier, the High Hit factor changes and rises based on that classifier. Which is why USPSA uses the average of most recent That is why you may notice your percentage drops after a period of time. Unlike other classifications, that are set in specific time/scale.

So in short, the curve changes! In encourage all to shoot USPSA matches near you throughout the year vs just shooting classifiers.

For me, it's the continuous pursuit of excellence.

See you on the range! Good work DWB for a great Classifier match!

Mag rules will have zero effect on classifiers

There are some classifiers where CoF is more than 10 rounds WITHOUT a mandatory reload. For example, 99-10. Limited and open would not have to reload on this normally. After the magazine ban they would.
