Default SoCal pigs, part2

I've heard about feral pigs in Chino and along the Santa Ana River. Seems tankerman's heard the same thing. I had a chance to talk to a biologist at Silverwood and he says if the state does decide to eliminate the feral pigs, they use a prof hunting outfit to trap and shoot them if need be.

I googled for more info and found the outfit that cleared the feral pigs on Santa Cruz Island. They are ProHunt NZ Services and White Buffalo, Inc. Here's a video of them in the Galapago's Island and another of helo pig hunt in NZ.

Having fished the islands off our southern coast, I've always heard about hunting on Santa Rosa and Santa Cruz Islands. I've heard from commercial guys that have seen deer swimming in the ocean and elks on the cliffs. Santa Cruz Island is off limits now, since purchased by the Nature Conservancy. Santa Rosa Island is available for hunt till 2011. Multiple Use Managers, Inc. guides hunts on the island. Looking at the pics, it's amazing how large these elks can get. If u got the $$$, it certainly is one of those "chance of a lifetime". After 2011, it'll be fully transfered to the National Park Service, where these animals will be removed to restore the island to it's natural habitat.

I hope I win the lotto b4 2011
