Ask calguns says:
1 Take a hunter saftey course.
2 Familiarize yourself with the regulations.
3 Get a license.

I would start by contacting your county Fish and Wildlife branch. I contacted mine and was told no license or tags needed just shoot them as long as you aren't in city limits. My situation may be different though as I'm trying to stop coyotes from killing my animals. Make sure you are clear on why you are hunting them.

^^^ Maybe ok for landowner protecting livestock not for regular people. Need hunting license. What animals are you protecting?

And you can only do that if the coyote is in the act of killing or harassing your livestock.
