Wow you guys are a tough crowd. The Steyr M series is a great firearm and an improvement on the Glock with superior ergos. If you haven't tried one you don't know what you are missing. After that comes the Caracal which is an improvement on the Steyr. Two very nice pistols that were developed by Wilhelm Bubbits.

I'd take one of those in .357 sig if they weren't so expensive. I can get a G31 for cheaper, but I'd love to try one of these things out. The trapezoid sights supposedly do work well.

The CA1 has 3dot sights. MSRP is $549. The M series pistol I shot in Nevada was phenomenal.

I had the M40-A1 and I have an S40-A1.

They got the C-A1 wrong. I would prefer the S grip with the 4" M slide. The S has the 3.67" barrel. For me it makes no sense to have a taller grip when the S40-A1 style grip safely holds 10 rounds of .40 S&W and 12 rounds of 9mm. For my M as I remember the bottom inch of the grip was just holding space for the plastic 10 round magazine spacer.

Coming from an XD owner, once you fire a Steyr M or S, there's nothing quite like it.

Here is my S below an M:

Been wanting an M40-A1 for a while. Thankfully, I believe it's on the roster. If one of you guys wants to sell his, PM me - I'm getting a decent refund soon.

Steyr M9-A1 = The best shooting poly pistol you've never heard of.Over 3000 rounds through one of mine and not a single hickup.
Grabbed the wife one from Dunn's (one of the last 3 they had) for $399.99 + $25.00 shipping. Wish I would have bought all of them.
Regards,
Mike
