For those of you who has interest in applying for Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW), this site CaliforniaCCW.org is where you get very good information and guidance. Also, we need all of you law abiding pro-gun citizen, specially here in the Bay Area to apply CCW and pursue Public Records Act (PRAR). Bay Area Counties issues CCW permits but unlike the rural counties are a lot restrictive in applying their discretionary power to ordinary citizen. The PRAR is where you are going to find out who your Police Dept and Sheriff Office gives CCW to. You will be surprised. San Mateo County currently has 162 CCW permit issued as of June of 2006. You wonder who this people are. I bet they are not all retired LEO's, and Judges who are entitled to CCW under PC12050.
Other info from other sources are: Contra Costa has 281, Alameda has 192, SF has 10 and Santa Clara has 176, These numbers may have gone up or down.
