Default Choosing brass...which companies to consider

Hi, looking to reload .222 Remington for bench rest target type shooting.

Several companies sell new brass, on Browels for example they have Norma, Lapua, Hornady, Nosler and some others.

Are some brands to be avoided, are some preferred for objective reasons?

Appreciate the guidance.

Peterson brass is now being sold on Brownells, or you can get it direct. Gotta tell ya, Peterson makes some fine brass. I have heard it is as good as, if not better, than Lapua.

I've not heard of that company....i'll do a search, thank you

just checked out their website, looks very nice but unfortunately they don't seem to offer .222 Remington. Perhaps they will in the future?

I found it cheaper, many times, to buy a case or three of Ammo, shoot that Ammo, then reload the brass.

How accurate are you trying to be with the .222?

For .308 I picked up 5 cases of match when I purchased the rifle.... I doubt I will ever run out of brass to reload

That needs to be considered. What rifle are you using? .222 isn't a particularly competitive benchrest caliber so I'm guessing "benchrest" means shooting from a bench vs. competition where winning vs. also ran is measured in 1000ths.

For "recreational benchrest" well prepped same headstamp brass of most any flavor will get you there.

Peterson doesn't sell direct anymore since they are using Grafs and Son's to handle the sales.

Last time I checked, they offer 50 ct and no 500 ct bulk brass.

thanks everyone. I've got an old Savage 112v in .222 Remington. I doubt i'll ever compete but would like to get back to the range, its been a long long time. I'd like to get back to working on the fundamentals. Some range time with friends. I'll be good to get outside.
