Default for your semi-autos, do you load to mag length or to ogive?

use the cartridge base to ogive method and measure your jump/jam to the lands and then determine your cartridge base to ogive length and load that way, provided it falls within mag length? This obviously assumes you're doing extensive load development to determine if your rifle likes a jam or jump.

or do you simply reload to mag length and not worry about ogive in a semi-auto?

I load off the ogive only when loading 80gr non mag length for .223. I have my chamber measurements and then load .010 off lands. For everything else i go OAL or cannalure.

Semi Rifle. Blaster ammo, cannalure. Match ammo, mag length.
Semi Pistol. Most reliable feed length.

For a semi, you will be in the mercy of the magazine. Some people go as long as they can in the mag, but I just load to SAAMI specs.
