Default 870 express parts for Wingmaster?

Hi all,

Will an 870 express bolt group (bolt/extractor) and an express trigger assembly fit in my wingmaster receiver? Or should I buy a flexitab conversion kit? After I get both assemblies, I'll only need trigger housing pins right? and a magazine cap...

Thanks!

Here is the diagram of the Remington 870 and its parts....

The Express parts you list will fit your receiver. No sweat.

Will post further in a few minutes...

1 There are two versions of retaining the magazine cap:
-----a)The newer version using a plastic retainer, has a tooth patern that engages the inside of your magazine cap (not shown in the diagram)
-----b)The other version that has a detent in the barrel mount, it presses into the round divots on the edge of the magazine cap (as shown in #33,,,detent is #34 on the barrel)

2 The flex tab kit updates your bolt and carrier to modern standards. The slide assby #90 may require you to fit it to the forend tube #82. If the slide assby doesn't fit onto the forened tube, it may need an extra notch cut into the left side leg of the forend tube. May not even be an issue, but if the shotgun guts don't go back together easily, something to look for.....

3 The flex tab update is the way to go as the kit is cheap from Brownells and updates your shotgun to modern standards. The older shiney bolt group may work with the newer trigger group but you don't get the benefit of the update. The square notch pressed into the carrier works with the newer bolt to allow you to clear a jambed shell easier.

4 The Wingmaster receiver is the same as a regular 870, it is just better polished and finished on the outside. Same same.

Ensure your receiver has not been stripped of the ejector assby as it is a pain to get right unless you have the tools to bang it in place (#13 #77)

Ensure your receiver has the left and right shell stops (#88 #89)

Trigger pins also and you should be o.k.

Yes it fits but make sure you have the slide also or the flex tab feature will not work.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.
