Had the interview today.... I think it went well. When we were through the Detective said to expect notification in a couple weeks and to follow the instructions for the livescan. I don't know if he says that to everyone or just those he thinks will get issued.

Just received my Livescan approval from the SO. 16 hour course will be done mid July and then my final appointment!!
Livescan process was 1 month and 1 week. Not too bad.

Final issuance/interview is set for July 17th. Pumped!!!!

I think they say that to everyone, they also seem to tell a lot of people how the appeal process works. Its like good cop, bad cop.

My wife had her livescan 5/10 and was approved 3 weeks later. I did mine a week after hers, so I'm hoping to get mine next week.

Had my initial Interview today, I think it went well. I do have a few tickets (some of us have a need for speed) but it seemed that wasn't a big deal. I guess only time will tell. I did bring way too much stuff. I had Awards, Class Certificates, my Army Ranger information, old Security Clearance docs Letters of Recommendation from my old Unit Commanders and Ranger buddies. They said you only need that for an appeal. In fact he mentioned at one point that I buried him with paperwork and had me pack most of it up. He said I don't make the decision but you should be fine. Expect notification in about a month.

fingers crossed.

Also ran into a Gentleman who got his appointment last night and was there today. Said he refreshed throughout the day and then BING apointment available.

Some times people cancel. I went to my initial appointment sick. Wasn't going to miss it. If an old speeding ticket is all you have, you should be good. I had a little more than that and received my application approval in 15 days.

Good luck to all who are going through the process!

Sign up for e-mail notification when appointments open back up. That way, you have a chance to be one of the first to be notified when they do come back around. Again, check back periodically if someone happens to cancel. I'm sure you already know to do that though.

The option to sign up wasn't available. The message stated that they will keep my info on file and will notify when available.

I did send an email to Amber also. Thanks

Yeah, that's what I've been saying too. Haha. Hopefully, we will be and this little piece of paper will be essentially useless in about a year's time!

I was just thinking about this the other night, lol. Although I already have my ccw, I am hoping that I won't need to renew it in the future. Just wishful thinking I guess but only time will tell.

Did my livescan May 17, still no word. Amber tells me it could take up to 90 days, that is a bummer.

camp on the website and hit the refresh button. I missed a couple of email notices stating appts were avail. I started camping on the website and hitting the refresh button. It didn't take me long to pick up an appt, probably a cancellation. Told a couple of friends how I did it and they got their appts a couple of days later and bagged earlier appts than me.

Application denied due to honesty. I quit using Canabis in order to own firearms several years ago. That apparently was information I should have pleaded the fifth on. I guess being legal in our State is not good enough for our County Sheriff.

No email, letter arrived in mail over the weekend, while I was camping, in the National Forest where open carry is legal.

Did it state that was the reason for denial? Seems like an odd reason to deny for if you quit several years ago.

Yes it said denied due to admitted previous illegal drug use, I can appeal or reapply in one year.

Maybe 2 years ago isn't long enough?

I will appeal it and see what happens.

Can anyone help me help with New Intel?

1) I read in this forum that Sac County is handing out the Acutally CCW at your final Appt? is that correct? I was informed that they mail it to you via certified mail.

2) How long is it taking to receive the approval/denial letter my appt was 06-05-13 and nothing yet. I also look at my email knowing my luck its in my spam along with 300 other emails.

1. Yes, at the issuing appointment the print and laminate and you have it when you leave.
2. my approval letter came in 38 days even though I had gone the email confirmation route.

Make sure you let Jason Davis or someone else affiliated with Calguns know about your denial. Just shoot them an email or call CGF and leave a message. They have been helping some people out with their appeals, especially those who shouldn't have been denied in the first place.

Yeah, I have been waiting since Oct and no emails. I will try that refresh trick, but I sure don't have time to do that all day.
I have noticed, appts tend to be released on the 30th, 1st, or 2nd of the month, every 2nd or 3rd month.

I've been trying and nothing. Especially after some members have posted up their recent updates.

I thought you had yours already, B?
