I see how this one works. The plate is bigger, thus only able to fit behind the top of the release. The screw keeps it from moving out; either under the trigger guard or by giggling it out sideways through the bottom of the mag release. Correct More?

The screw sucks up the plate which wedges the mag release preventing it from moving. +1 on what fal said. The screw head is big enough to prevent it from sliding through and both pieces clamp down on the mag release spring so it will be under tension and won't come loose even if you don't use loctite. It's that simple, now give me $20 bucks for telling you my secret haha

When you install them don't strip the threads. It should thread in real easily. You drop it into the recessed area of the mag release making sure it sits on top of the selector stop plate. I tested fitted each one on my romy g so you probably won't have to do any filing but if you do just take a little off the tip of the plate.

Cheers

Sweet, I've been waiting for some kind of mag-fixing solution before building up my romy g's. Now I can get to work with the BFH and dremel. Woohoo! Thanks very much for your time and effort.

Quick tutorial of how I install. I like posting pics

Drop the lock in this way over the selector stop plate.

Then hold the lock level with your left index finger and thread the allen screw using a 5/32 allen wrench.

You may have to wiggle the lock around a few times so that everything lines up.
DON'T STRIP the threads it will thread in easy. Let me know if you have any problems.

Stupid question, but how do you all load your AK with the fixed mag? Do you take off top cover/bolt assembly/recoil spring and just push em into the fixed mag?

Nother stupid question are OOW mk99 AK-47 recievers on the banned list??

You can just load through the ejection port, it is much less difficult than on an AR. Also there is a way to modify the mag to feed through the back, but I don't think anyone has posted on that as a home project. I might try it.

Not on the list, but if this is your first build I would recommend the Nodak Spud NDS-3 over them. Locating and drilling the trunion holes is a pain on the mk99!

built it in oklahoma, OOWs aint bad except for the small gap on the selector lever. I have built 4, 1 screw and 3 rivet builds. Im only bringing one of em to cali, but Ive got stock/handguard/pistol grips from Romania, Hungary(its built on an SA-85 part kit), East German plastic, and romanian sidefolder. Nodak is the best I agree though

I ordered a CAT-5 network cable from a guy in October 05 and thought he ripped me off... over SIX MONTHS later the package came in my P.O. box...I thought sure, this dude sends the parts now to cover his arse.

NOPE... They were post marked OCTOBER 2005 and apparently had gotten lost for 6 months before the P.O. delivered it to my box. Craziest thing ever.

I felt bad too cuz I reamed the guy a new one over him "ripping me off" I ended up sending him a $50 gift card to Starbucks and an apology.
