Default Hk416~14.5" w/ perm FH or 10.5" w/ perm fake supressor?

Hello all,
Like the the title asks:
If you could get your hands on a HK416, would you go with the14.5" w/ permanent FH or 10.5" w/ permanent fake supressor? (Of course the permanent attachments would bring the overall length of the barrel over 16".)

Which would you go with? Another idea is the shorter 10.5" version could be used with an AR pistol for more versatility. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Well since we a speaking with regards to Kommiefornia, 14.5 with perm FH. A pistol build anything is worthless due to no buttstock! If you plan on being able to hit something go with the 14.5! In a free state SBR all the way..

14.5" with a perm. attached AAC 51t blackout flash hider, if you move out of Ca. you can get a AAC M4-2000 suppressor down the road.

14.5 with permanent muzzle device, better ballistics and probably less weight hanging off the end...or you can get an ar pistol with 10 inch barrel and 14.5 inch barrel rifle for the price of an hk upper....not to rain on your parade but hk= paying for a useless ar piston name, waiting for the hate mail

CMMG makes the m4 lep 2 based on the same set up and it's 1K stag has it with sights for 1150, unless you can get it for nothing or you can get a full auto version legally it's a giant waste of money.

well considering you can buy a complete lwrc or lmt piston rifle new(both of which have excellent reputations) for about $2200 give or take a few dollars instead of paying at least $2600 for a used mr556(and thats a steal), not even a true hk416, which is hardly compatible with any ar15/m16 parts seems like a waste of money imho. but its your money do as you wish

The most often given reason people give to put a downer on hk416's is the price.
If you are in the market for a hk416 then usually money is not a big issue. Given money out the door I would take the hk416 over any other piston system. I am willing to bet most would make the same choice, even those that talk down on the hk416

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread but I had a similar question: If I go with a 14.5 with the perm flash hider, would I be able to get that flash hider somehow removed? If I were to move out of CA in the future

Yes, it can be done by an armorer. The FH would be trashed! You can also do it your self with a dremmel tool and lots of patience.

dont get me wrong its a very nice system that works and ive personally shot a 10" select fire hk416 through a local department buddy. that being said even if i had the money i still would not pay the ridiculous mark up hk puts on this rifle since there are just as functional systems without the beloved hk stamp on them, which equates to optics, more ammo, and training. not to mention this rifle is very hard to find a certified gunsmith for unless you work for a department who issues them. but if your looking for "cool kid on the block" factor then you would probably get a bunch of attention at the range. to me personally its not a justified purchase due to many things but to someone else it may, that being said my mrp upper should be coming in the mail this weekend

why would i want a fake suppressor? if it doesn't have utility, it doesn't belong on my weapon.
