Default Remington 870 Forend Tube Assembly New Style?

I was wondering if any of you guys can help me out.

I just picked up an 870 police magnum 12ga.(used) and I need to replace the forend tube assembly (I bent the "fork" while trying to put on a new forend...stupid move). But I notice on that they had 2 different ones for the 12ga., a "old" and a "new" style.
Can anybody tell me what the difference is and which one should I get?

BTW, I also have a 870 express that I bought a month ago and switch the tube and they are interchangable. So does this mean I have a new style?

The difference between the old and new style forend tube assy is that the new one has an extra notch in it for the newer style flexi-tab carrier assy.

Will the old style assy work with the flexi-tab carrier assy? Yes. I've retro-fitted a bunch of older 870's with the flexi-tab kits and they all work fine. Why the new style forend assy then? I haven't figured that one out yet....

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
