Default new AR caliber

Does anybody have, or know of anybody, that has an AR in the 502 Thunder Sabre round offered by the folks in Oregon (sorry, forgot their name)?

I am curious if it is just another version of the .50 Beowulf.

Huh, competition for the Beowulf, huh?

Looks to be a completely different round.

Gah. I think I'd rather buy one of the 50AE uppers - at least it fires ammo used in another gun, even if it would need a different bolt carrier.

Although, if I remember right, they don't make the 50AE uppers anymore... :/

I want a 500 S&W upper, that would be awesome. Available ammo, great performance. You could take a polar bear with an AR....

What a boomstick...

Can't remember where I read the article, but it was about three guys hunting polar bears, two of them were carrying 500 S&W's. They lit up the bear with something like 10 rounds before it started coming towards them. The third guy with a 45-70 rifle finally put the bear down.

After reading that, I wonder about the 500 S&W.
