The assault weapon laws in California only apply to centerfire firearms, so rimfires, like the Ruger 10/22 are not affected by them. You still, however, need to follow Federal law and maintain a 16"+ barrel with an overall length of 28"+. With a Federally legal barrel, the Bell and Carlsons stocks will easily be of legal length.

Neoweird, the federal length requirement is 26" not 28".

We should clarify that the California A/W ban does apply to rimfires if they are handguns.

But like you said, the 10/22 rifle is exempt.

What about magazine capacities greater than 10 for rimfires? Rifles, pistols, etc.

What about tube magazine capacities? Just curious.

Tube magazines are exempt from the 10 round limit law, but otherwise, you are limited to 10 rounds, including rimfire.

Keep in mind that tubular magazines are only exempt when they are for 22 caliber amunition (NOT all rimfire, but 22 caliber only) OR when the tubular magazine is on a lever gun.
