WOW!!! That is a ridiculous price!!! Quotes I got to replace and custom cut the foam ranged from approximately $200 - $400.

Let me reiterate. The $30 price is just the labor, you must provide your own foam cores. Caseman.com can provide foam, but it will jump the price to well over $100

That is what I figured and that is still a great price

heres my SKB double shotgun case with one with my CZ 452 Varmint in .17HMR and 10.5lbs of ammo
this was taken up in Oregon on the family hazelnut orchard where I did vermin elimination

2 CZ rimfire rifles, 10.5lbs of ammo, a case small enough that it can fly as normal sized luggage and not get knocked with oversized fees=WINNING

that critter was taken with my CZ 452 American 16" with a Weaver V-16

The downside I see with the Pelican cases is the fact that once they are cut they can not transport other rifles and gear very well

I just visited them in Anaheim and brought my Pelican's foam to be cut for an AR and a pistol. Thanks for the link.

Will post pics once it's finished.

They did a very nice, clean job. Costed around 100. Took only one day for them to do it.

It looks much better from a top view, I'm just bad at taking pics.

$100 bucks and they provided the foam? Or did you bring your own? I'm thinking about visiting them as well and brining my guns to have them trace it since I can't trace to save my life...lol

Default Pelican 1720.

Here's a blurry pic of my Pelican 1720, with two of my latest AR builds. Took out middle foam so I could close case. Need to take it in to get cut, that is if I can make up my mind on how I want to configure the AR's.

Just talked to Rick from Caseman and it's $75 for up to 4 cavities and $5 per cavity over 4. They must have gone up in price or you got hooked up!

Here are the two that I made. I found instructions on AR15.com for a home made hot wire foam cutter. It was a fun project.

Considering a Pelican Case or something hard sided equivelant. Only thing, is I'd like it to contain both my SCAR and ACR... any suggestions?

Go with a Boyt hard case. When I travel with 2 rifles, I use Boyt.

Here is my alright cut job, it'll do for now. But later when I get a second case I'll have the foam cut by someone or build a hot-wire box. Contents Remington SPS Tactical .308 and a Ruger 10/22 SPS Tactcal clone Big Brother and little brother.

Cheapo Plano I got from Walmart during Black Friday for $30, I wish I picked up more. I literally plucked the foam according to my rifle's shape using nothing but my hands. It has a built-in lock on the 2 front locking device(2 keys included). Not bad at all for 30 bucks.

+1 on the plano cases. my M1A scout lives in this one -- all weather series, model 108420.

M1A_InCase.jpg

this is a plano pro-max pillarlock double gun case, model 1532. it holds my AR setup (two uppers, one lower).

ARCaseFinal2.jpg

probably not up to pelican standards, but sturdy enough and much more affordable. both setups work for me. apologies for cellphone pics.
