Default Orange County--CCW on school campus exemption

Has anyone written to a district supervisor attempting to get an exemption for CCW on campus?

So bugs the crap out of me to have to disarm to go kids soccer matches on school property.

Diocese is completely opposed, won't budge.

General counsel even lied nine years ago about the law (during an inquest with my pastor, OCSD was present, too and did not correct her)--she said then that the law was what it has recently been changed to, nine years later.

I work for a University... I asked, they replied with "[they] are looking into that policy and would let me know". I'm not holding my breath.

Regardless of the school's policy OCSD conditions of issuance state no carry on school campus so even if the school gave it's okay IA policy says no. You would lose your CCW if you violated it!

Well that sucks. I did go and review the policies from OCSD website, it says this under prohibitions:

"possession of a firearm at any school building and/or school grounds where prohibited by law"

So if a CCW receives an exemption from the superintendent/school board (which I assume is unlikely anyway), then it would no longer be prohibited by law. So seems like you'd be good to carry, no?

No, as IA policy is just as valid as state law when it comes to the possibility of losing your permit due to violating IA conditions of issuance!

The law says you can carry on school grounds with permission of the superintendent (paraphrasing), so you'd be in compliance.

I saw the morning coffee with Craig he made a good point.By not letting a permit holder to carry the school could be liable for permit holders saftey.
